Thanks for posting this.

I just took the survey and realised that the UKBA hinted a ball park figure of £300.00 for the premium service. Would I pay this for an in-person service that would probably require me to travel from London to Liverpool and spend several hours waiting for a decision? Probably not!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention OP. We are grateful.

Here is the link for the survey

They are proposing to do it, but it is not finalised yet. I for one will not take part in it for a variety of reasons.

This people seem very desperate to make as much money from immigrant, to the extent of violating EU law, by charging fees which a British Citizen cannot be charged. It is outrageous.

I believe lots of people will be prepared to go for it, for job reasons and peace of mind, but why should it be , that richer people are able to get a quicker answer but poorer people don't. This changes might also result in all the staff being put on front desk, and less staff to process free application. This seems wrong.

Anyway i wish them all the best

I also agree with U guys that it doesn't look like alright to me as they are creating difference between poor & rich. But if they really want to do, they should decrease the fee so those who are not well enough can be benefited from this.

I got my RC yesterday after 5 months when everything was proper & complete. But I had to wait for that policy & they took 5 months but it's alright. But I am afraid this new premium service would be implemented soon & they might start delaying normal applications. But who know?

if it's Free of charge

Of course some people prefer pay £300.00 for the premium service instead paying solicitors up to £500 and waiting up to 6 months.
But we should no forget that there’s a lot who can not afford to pay any £.
Big +
UKBA can not implement any law regarding EEA applications without seeking the EU approval.

If the UKBA could implement the premium service, This is a very good news for every one, we should welcome this decision but should Free of charge. I don’t think that the UKBA accept fast free service.

So for that: Under no circumstances that this will be approved by the EU

The UKBA's consultation is a way of gauging the public's overwhelming preference/desperation irrespective of what EU law might say. I also do not see how the UKBA can implement extortionate fees for an equivalent service that British nationals do not pay for.

Thanks for bringing this up.
Here is what I wrote at the last page ("Do you have any other comments about the UK Border Agency?"):
Immigration restrictions in general is an antiquity and has no place in the 21st century. Seeing all those "inventions" and "initiatives" (like extra-long application forms which as you suggest in this very questionnaire might require paid advice to fill in properly, insisting on requiring "family permit" and other visas where they are not required by law etc. etc.) by your agency (and others across the Europe) to effectively hamper the free movement of even the family members of EU nationals is just sad.
