What is SAR ?

I have been reading the thread, and came across this abbreviation .SAR. what does this stand.

What is the relevance of this to 10 years visa application ?

It's a record of all the information concerning your immigration status that that is held on file at the UKBA. It's useful (but not mandatory) to request this before applying for ILR under longer residence to see if there are any gaps in your continuous period of leave.
