Yes try to call and find out what is going on. They sometimes take notes to pass it on to case worker. Keep your HO Ref handy

I gave them a call and they said they sent a letter of aknowledgement for the follow up documents i sent them 3weeks ago but i never got any, so they'll post it again..

Received a letter on 7 Oct saying I am required to do the B1 English Language Qualification. The functional english level 2 is not acceptable even though it might be in institutions etc. Called the Home office and they advised someone will call back. received a call next day and tried explaining her my situation. she said we have no started working on you application yet as there is still missing information. unless all the required documents are completely provided, we cannot progress the case.

Since my application date 9/6/14 i called them every 4-5 weeks to find if any correspondence was sent to me as our post is very delayed and all they said was its in progress. and now in Oct they said we cannot process any application if missing information. so annoyed. anyway I booked an instant test with English Exam Centres paid £185 and passed it with distinction. they gave me till 28th Oct to provide this info. Posted it today special delivery and will be received tomorrow. 23 Oct. Fingers crossed see how long do they take now. Please pray for me.

Dear All,

Today (1st of October) I received the HO letter dated 26th September asking to submit original Driving licence counter part. As I remember I did mentioned that I have over speeding offence since that was first one I was offered speed awareness course, not points claimed on licence. I think this is may be the reason they were asking for original DVLA paper part.

I will send this document tomorrow with first class mail. As mentioned before I will keep you posted.

Well Just another update.

I receive the DVLA paper part back which sent them on 2nd of October via recorded delivery, I did include the return recorded delivery envelop, with the hope case worker will send the decision together with paper part. Guess what; I was sent back the paper part only using my recorded delivery envelop on 10th of October received on 12th of October. And today (22nd of October) I received the Approval decision letter dated 10th of October, since this was second class reached to me in 11 or 12 days.

Finally I received the approval dated 10th October on 22nd of October. What a crazy system and bumpy ride we have been through, worth a wait, I need to book ceremony, I will call local council tomorrow.

I will keep you posted.

Still waiting, Calling almost every Friday but always standard reply (your Application is under process), I requested them to return my original Documents hope I will get soon. I did not withdraw my application just online form to return of documents hope it wont effect my application process as i spoke to HO helpline, its been told it wont effect my application. Called HO on 23rd, the person on the phone was very kind (Son's current passport was getting expired next month so we were under pressure, in a dilemma whether to renew or not ). He checked the status and told that the decision letter has been dispatched on 20th October and it should be there in a few days. He checked my postal address as well just to rule out any mistakes (I had called twice earlier and had received standard reply 'under consideration' and will be dealt within 6 months ).

Finally received the Naturalisation certificate on 24th of October, in my case the ceremony was planned already which I joined in time. Progressing for British Passport, thanks everyone for feedback and updates.

In my case, the delay of one month was due to, I remain very open and mentioned that I have had speeding fine and no points on licence but asked for speed awareness course. This wasn't criminal offence, so case worker shouldn't have asked for evidence, but he did? Lesson learn, if you mentioned something extra include the evidence or the proof what you are stating.

Finally I got my approval today. I did call HO once on 14-10-2014 and was told application is under process and I might listen in two weeks time. Thanks to everyone, congrats to who got approvals and good luck to who are waiting.

Called this morning and was told no decision has yet been made. I was praying the application becomes a success. Today received a letter dated 28 Oct stating it has been successful.

Got my approval today


Applied July 16, 2014 but because I did'nt enclosed my original Test Certificate they did not process my application until sometime October 25th.

I applied on the 13th and still no news. I call once a week on Friday just to check but get the usual reply. The waiting is killing me but nothing else you can do.
