Note: Last Wednesday 11/11 it had been 3 weeks since my application was processing so I decided to use the Webchat function to talk to someone at HM
Passport Office. They told me my
passport officer sent mail to where my counter signatory works on 2/11 and they're waiting for a response. I got in touch with my counter signatory and she told me she's working from home so she hadn't received that. Long story short my
passport officer called her on Friday and sent her an email. She responded and my application was approved today. I can't tell they contacted my counter signatory because she's Irish or because I used the paper form, but oh well. Thank god I enquired before the 6 weeks they quote as normal processing time for first time applicants otherwise this would have gone nowhere. Hopefully my
passport arrives this week or next.
