visitor visa sponser - house documents

Post by krssubbu » Fri Jun 24, 2011 4:40 pm

hi,

i am tier 1 visa and wish to invite my mother in law to the uk for some time. I live in a 1 bedroom house (1 hall and 1 Spam and 1 bedroom) - i hope this will be ok as it wont be overcrowded. somewhere in this forum i read that 3 ppl will be ok in 2 rooms as long as the rooms are more than 50 sq feet. so can anyone pls advice onthe above

also, do i need to send my tenancy agreemnet for sponsering...my tenancy agreement was for 6 months but we have lived in the house more than 1 year. so teh tenancy agreement is expired now. to renew my tenancy agreement, i need to pay the agency a bit of money. so will it be ok if i can just get a letter from the agency instead of the tenancy agreement. please advice

Thanks

The only way 3 people will be allowed in one room will be if its husband and wife and young baby under 2. Any other mixture of adult irrespective of how big room will not be allowed and will be deemed to be overcrowded.

Secondly you will need a valid tenancy agreement which must have a minimum of 6 months left for it to be accepted. Nothing else will do or it will end in a refusal.

Sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear !!!!

If that is the case then its fine. Its just you dint mention the living room in the first post.

No a letter from the landlord wont do. It has to be a shorthold assured tenancy agreement and it must have a minimum 6 months left on it.

Your and your landlord should renew the TA once it expires. If you don't it can have major implication if you and your landlord has a dispute. Furthermore a standard TA can be downloaded free web or you can buy one for around a tenner.

The reason for having a tenancy agreement is so you are legally protected by law and can not be evicted without due process. The reason why an ECO will ask for a TA is that he will know you have accommodation available. Without this he may assume no fixed abode is available for your mother in law and may turn her visa application down.

Hi,

I am a student at United Kingdom studying Masters and want to bring my parents from Bangladesh under general visitor visa category. In my invitation letter I have said that only accommodation will be provided and the other cost will be on them. They will stay only for two weeks.
Do I need to provide a bank statement for this? I can provide one, but the problem is that there is no transaction on it for the last one and half month as I am using my wife's a/c (she is here as my dependent).
The other thing is that I have got tenancy agreement for only two rooms (one double and one single). Is it sufficient?

I need your advise urgently as I will submit document in the next 3 days.
