Yellow Card missing, can I still apply?

Post by doctoraise » Tue Aug 12, 2014 6:40 pm

Dear fellow applicants,

I would like to ask a question regarding providing evidence for exercising my treaty rights for the last 6 years (5+1) as part of my application for British citizenship. (planning to apply in October)
After reading the guidelines I found that I need to provide a registration certificate to demonstrate that I was exercising my treaty rights and that I didn't require comprehensive sickness insurance as a student.

To give you a brief summary of my case:
I am a 25yo Romanian citizen.
I was a full-time university student in the UK from September 2008 to July 2011. Afterwards I was in full-time employment from October 2011 to the present moment.

As a Romanian national I applied for and received the Yellow card Residence Documentation (Registration Certificate) in December 2008. Which I believe I need to provide as evidence for the above mentioned requirement.
The problem is that when I subsequently applied for the Blue card Residence Documentation (July 2011) I didn't receive the Yellow card back. :?

I kept a scanned copy of the Yellow Card Residence Documentation -
I do have the original Blue card, p60s, payslips and letters from university to cover the full 6 years.

1. Could anybody confirm that the Yellow card Residence Documentation is required as evidence for proving that I was exercising the EEA treaty rights?
2. If it is required, how can obtain a copy of it since I was not given it back after applying for the Blue card Residence Documentation? (I was considering putting in a Subject Access Request to the imigration office https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... mmigration)

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. :)

Thank you in advance

I've read a related topic here - http://www.immigrationboards.com/britis ... nt#p949879
and decided to add some details to my initial post.
I intend to apply for the Naturalisation without obtaining PR.
I also want to apply on the basis of being a student & then in full-time employment. I wasn't working in the summer holidays during university 4 months each.

3. Do you guys think it's too risky of me to apply straight for the citizenship?
