Instead of your entertaining diversions, could we perhaps remind ourselves that you knew so little about the topic you veered off into EEA permits....?
I am not, and cannot, offer legal advice to particular people. I can only discuss general areas of immigration law.

People should always consider obtaining professional advice about their own particular circumstances.

Now if I were you, would certainly think twice before making blanket assumptions and posting misleading statements like above ;a non-existant "family visit visa" to woo the appeal market crowd with a signature. Immigration vis-a-vis for bread winning - fair enough, but try and keep information crystal clear in plain simple english especially for the sake of clarity.

A "permit" and "visa" is often used interchangeably, but I guess its a question of knowing what is what about EEA family permit ? merci beaucoup !

Steering this back on topic, I've had an email from the Entry Clearance Manager:

Please refer to your e-mails of 25 September and 4 October about Mr and Mrs X's recent applications for visas to enable them to visit the United Kingdom.

I have reviewed the applications in the light of your comments but I am satisfied that, based on the available evidence, the Entry Clearance Officer's (ECO's) decision to refuse was correct and in accordance with United Kingdom Immigration Rules. Mr and Mrs X have the right of appeal against the ECO's decision. The relevant forms and guidance were handed to them with the refusal notices. The deadline for lodging their appeal is 22 October 2007.

I am sorry to send what I know will be a disappointing reply on this occasion.

Yours sincerely

Lyn Shaw
Management Officer/Consul/Entry Clearance Manager

I've sent an email back referencing the Independent Monitor's Report into Visa Refusals with regard to 2 points on the refusal notice, and to tell her I have asked my MP to take up the matter with UK Visas for me.

I am not bread winning here - only helping. I'm a barrister, so I can't act for anyone directly anyway!

I think the problem here is (guess it is common with any public discussion area ) there are so many ways you can make the entire section of the crowd drawn into an idea using either weak english or strong english especially when you are using a strong "contextual signature".

My point is, if it is clear, plain and simple message - things will shine automatically. Rest assured - my comments are not intented and not to be read as personal remarks at any signatures used.

Upadate - my husband's cousin had a phonecall from the embassy last Tuesday, and was told to come to the embassy on the Friday. He was interviewed (again), and then told to come back at 1pm, when he was given his visa! Bit late for the New Year visit they were planning, but better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!
