Attending app in Pakistan

Hi,

My spouse will be going to Islamabad from Afghanistan for her biometrics and I was hoping someone could clarify what happens with her passport.

As I understand, she needs to take her passport and they will record her biometrics - what I am unsure about is what happens with her passport? Do they keep it awaiting the visa approval or do they return it to her?

It is unclear on the website so I was hoping someone here who has had experience could advise me.

They will keep her passport until you recieve a decision on your application.
She has to come to afg with out her passport.
