ILR long residence - Quick Question

Post by karollc » Tue Jan 12, 2016 1:08 pm

Hi,

How long before the 10 years can I apply for ILR?
I came in March 11th 2006.

Also The home office lost my first passport that I came to UK
What should I do?
I have already send them a email.

Which documents should I have to apply ILR?

Do I need to apply for ILR for my son who born in UK?

Thanks

I came in UK a week before you. You can apply 28 days before you entered UK.
So you can apply anything after lets say 13th February 2016.

Wait for the respond from Home Office what will they say about the lost passport. Otherwise take all the passports you have valid for last 10 years and if you have Photocopy of the lost one that would be helpful. As they would like to see the first entry stamp or visa reference number with which you enter the UK first time.

Documents you need to do Life in the Uk test along with English Language Test ( if you dont have a approved Uk degree)

You need to elaborate more on the situation of your son.

In any case as CR001 said, if you've lost the passport you gained entry with, get proof of address. The HO will need to establish that you were in the country during that time. If the HO lost your passport, still get some proof just to be on the safe side, since they won't be able to contest that fact.

I have a son who born here (he is 3 years old) and I and his father is going to apply for ILR
Do I need to apply for ILR For him?
As I heard I do not need to apply for ILR I can apply for british direct
Is that right?
If yes how can I do it?

When at least 1 parent has ILR you can apply to register your child; no need for ILR for child as child was born in UK.

Use form MN1 - Section 1(3) of BNA.
All that is gold does not glitter; Not all those who wander are lost. E&OE.

Hi,

My husband has a son( which is not my) his son's visa is as his dependent at the moment.
I am the main applicant, we are on tier 2 as minister of religion.

Me and husband is going to apply for ILR IN March 2016.

His son came to Uk in 2013. So I was advised to apply Based on settlement of family settled in UK

However he need to send his father proof of settled, so I guess we need to apply for our ILR first then apply for him
Is that right? Or
Do we send the form at the same time ?

If we apply first, what is going to be my stepson's visa status
does he stay illegal?

Does the visa situation apply for my son as well?

Thanks a lot
Karol
