I want to immigrate to the eu zone for personal and professional reason's. I am an American national with a bachelor's degree in Business Admin.How long would it take to process an application of that nature, and/or a visa application? Also, would it be faster if I visit a choice place and apply after the visit time has expired with the Embassy there?Hey fine folks just looking for better options! lol.

SYH is right. Although the Schengen areas operate a common immigration policy for short-term visitors on tourist or business trips, that does not apply to people who want to "move" to one of the Shengen countries, which issue residence permits and the like according to their own rules and regulations. This is probably where the confusion has arisen.

It would take some time depending on what country you are interested in. The UK appears to be the simplest, whereas Spain, Germany and Italy can be a drag. The obvious thing to do is decide which country you'd like to move to.

How much work experience do you have? If you're fresh out of college, there would be little chance of anyone wanting to hire you - there are enough fresh faces across the EU zone for employers to pick and choose without having to look across the pond.

I think the bottom line is just getting someone to hire you...in hopefully the country in the EU zone of your preference. However, beggers cant really be choosers in this case.
Once you get a job offer, then a sponsored work permit can be obtained and then you can be on your way to permanently residing in the country you end up in...if you so choose to follow this path.

This is probably the best route to choose but it is of course quite long. Im just nearing the end of mine right now. My only advice is make sure you REALLY want to move and live in the EU zone and are sure about it because the hurdles involved can be very discouraging (which they are designed to be in order to disuade people from flooding the country in question).
