Tier 2 General to ILR with dependants (wife and child) - documents

Post by lelikrambov » Mon Feb 17, 2020 10:33 pm

Hello,
hope everybody is ok. I think my case is straight forward but I am a bit confused with documents I am asked to provide for my application (in the end of application, there is document check list).
I feel that I need to provide more documents than it is requested in check list.
Could you advise please? Thank you.

They are not asking marriage certificate
They are not asking my child birth certificate
They are not asking Police registration certificate for my wife (only mine)
They are not asking BRPs for my dependants (evidence of immigration status)
They are not asking evidence of my wife's absence from the UK and etc

Am I need to provide documents listed above for my dependants?

I also have several questions regarding documents for myself. There are a lot of questions in form. Should I try to provide documents for everything?

Am I need to provide documents for house ownership?
I was living in USA for 3 months (had green card) and applied for first UK Tier-2 visa from USA. Am I need to provide evidence that I was resident of USA and abandoned USA residence?

Sorry if questions are strange but my company used consultants for my previous visas and I provided a lot of documents for tier-2 visa and family.

Thank you

You need employer letter as a Tier 2 visa holder.

No. Simply provide cohabitation documents with your partner for the last two years (bills, agreements, ect)

Hello Zimba,
thanks a lot for answers.
Can I ask one more please?
it is regarding date of first time entering the UK.
question from application form:
When did you first enter the UK? (also it is stated that this date will be used for 5 year calculation).

I entered UK on 29th of April, wife and kids on 9th of May
Our first Tier-2 visa was from 7th of April.

I answered 7th of April for this question. Is it correct?

if yes, should I add dates from 7th of April to 29th of April as absence from the UK in application form?

Thank you

the question clearly asks for the date you ENTERED the UK and is not asking for the date your visa was ISSUED!

yes, it is.
it is a bit strange that they are adding phrase that 5 years will be calculated from this date.

but am I right that 5 years will be counted from date first visa granted?

Thank you

Tier 2 General Dependant (spouse) absence from the UK confirmation

Post by lelikrambov » Tue Feb 25, 2020 2:09 pm

Hello,
dear Experts.
I am on Tier-2 General visa granted in March 2018. We are applying for ILR this year.

I do have question regarding my partner applying as my dependant.

Does she need to submit documents confirming her absence in the UK the same way main applicant confirm absence (letter from employer)?

When filled application form, only main applicant asked to provide confirmation of absence.

Thank you
