When enclosing an employer's letter for an applicant over 18 years of age but whom one is proposing is still dependent on the ILR applicant, one should be careful not to shoot one's own foot and demonstrate financial independence (and maybe more) of the "child".beti123 wrote:Just forgot one IMP thing. As my son is studying and working at the same time he attached the letter from the employer confirming his status with them. If your son is studying then get his school or college to write a reference for him, or if he is working then attached his employer's letter.
I hope this will clear the confusion 'cause at the end of the day he is still your dependant.

yes, it must weaken your claim that your son is dependent on you, when he has a job, i made sure my stepson was 100% dependant on me before i applied for ILR for him.paulp wrote:When enclosing an employer's letter for an applicant over 18 years of age but whom one is proposing is still dependent on the ILR applicant, one should be careful not to shoot one's own foot and demonstrate financial independence (and maybe more) of the "child".beti123 wrote:Just forgot one IMP thing.
