ILR for my daughter while I am claiming child benefit

Post by gudiyor » Tue Oct 04, 2022 10:18 pm

Hi,
I have ILR and my daughter is on dependent visa. I am claiming child benefit since May this year and now I need to apply for my daughter's ILR. I am not sure about me claiming child benefit has any effect on her ILR application. I appreciate your replies. Thank you.

I don't think it would, as the application to claim public funds was in your name (with ILR), not in hers.

If your partner or child can’t claim public funds

There are extra rules if you can claim public funds but your partner or child can’t.

Thank you both. However, I find the following criteria on UKVI website
you’ll be supported and accommodated adequately without using public funds
I am really not sure what this means.
