How does H.O calculate absences?

If they have all your travel history , why are people required to list their travels while applying ilr?

Do they just look what we submit? or they compare it with theirs? How do they check ??

I have 22 months absence during covid and aftermath, I was abroad when travel bans etc came up and I personally also didn't want to return, while I could just live in ukraine cheaper and safer. When the war started I returned.

Is there a 180 day rule for refugees as well?

Yes, your listed absences are compared with the UKVI records and the border and Stupid passenger information ukvi receives.

The requirement for ILR is that you have lived in the UK for 5 years on refugees status.

I applied for a russian literature masters which is two semesters. I didn't know covid would happen obviously. School was shut after two months I arrived. Then I continued online school etc. But of course It was a valid reason to stay and couldn't return even if I wanted to

There is no specific absence limit but you need to show that you have lived mostly in the UK for the last 5 years. Refugee status is granted to people who need protection often for facing unfair persecution or serious harm in their home country. Seeking refugee status means you genuinely needed the UK's protection and needed to remain in the UK for a legitimate reason. You have had nearly two years of absence from the UK and your previous posts suggest that you left the UK for being too expensive to live elsewhere. This means you could have freely lived in another country without any issues.

One of the requirements of ILR under your route is that you will be subjected to the 'Safe return review'. UKVI will look into your circumstances to see if it was appropriate that you were granted refugee status. It is very unlikely you will be granted ILR and given your decisions, you could even lose your refugee status.
