Dear Mods and Experts,

This enquiry is for my wife and son ( child )

I applied for my naturalisation application and waiting for outcome, in a mean time i want to prepare documents for my wife and son

1) Can i apply for my wife and son as soon I get my naturationastion, my wife and son got ILR few months ago
2) What documents we need to provide them beside referee
3), Can my wife and son use same referee ?
4) Can my wife's maternal uncle ( British ) can be her referee ?
5) my wife is not working at the moment and does not have any income and not paid any taxes and not on payroll, is there any documents she need to provide ?

She have her LIUK and English test which she used for her ILR

Thank you for continued support

1. Your wife can apply once you have attended your ceremony. Your child can apply now or when your wife does.

2. Same as you did. The form will tell what is needed.

3. Possibly yes.

4. No. You cannot use a referee who is related to he applicant through blood or marriage.

5. Employment is NOT required for citizenship.

Children apply on form MN1. You could have added him to your application tbh.

You will be given a checklist at the end of the application process.

As you are not a British citizen yet your wife can apply when:

- you become a British citizen (when you attend the ceremony)
- Nov 2026

Whichever comes first.

There should be a question about age. Somewhere you should be able to state that the applicant is under 18 and these questions will go away. Try this link https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/product/mn1

That’s great, thank you so much

One or both of your parents is applying for British citizenship - is this a right section to choose?

For children born abroad and holding ILR, the option is "Other".

There is no fee waiver in your circumstances.
