dependents visa query

Post by meer_iet » Mon Nov 23, 2009 1:49 pm

Hi,
I will apply for hsmp (tier1) extension next month from UK. My dependents were with me on dependent visa until recently and are currently in India.

My query is:
With my visa extension application can i send application for my dependents with their passports etc all together or they will have to apply separately from India?

Thanks for your reply and sharing your experiences.

You can apply for your extension(from UK while your dependents are in India). Once they are back, you can apply for their extension too(that will cost your more money).

Alternatively, you can call you dependents to UK and apply altogether. This will save you lot of money(ofcourse I am not considering travel ticket).

Applying from India will be a different ballgame, more risky, lenghty process.

Thanks Chetan, Actually my wife is pregnant and we have planned delivery in India. by that time her current visa would have expired.

it looks like i can not send their application(passport etc) along with mine when i apply for my extension from uk next month. for them to apply from UK they have to be in UK, is it correct?

thanks again

Yes, if they are in India then you cannot send their passports along with you.In that case, you can apply for yourself to extend visa. You can apply for dependents when you are ready to move your dependents to UK.
