Could someone help with this:

1. When you have been given discertionary leave to remain (3Yrs) can you switch it to spouse visa and if yes can it be as soon you get married or when?

The reason why i asked that is because i was given discretionery leave through my partner and i would like to know whether this is possible and if it is what is the procedure.

Views highly appreciated.

Hi Soniet247...
From my understanding of DL, u can only switch to a spouses visa if u make the application in your home country and not in the UK.
btw I'm still waiting for a response from HO as per extension of my DL based on marriage..really getting very frustrated...

Hi Kennieg,

Thx for your reply, HO people take their own sweet time to sort our problems i dont know whether they know is a real torture waiting for something you cant even tell whether the outcome will be +ve or -ve. Dont give up is nearly 5 months from the time you applied so it will be soon they will talking to you.

For DL as you said i have to do it at home, is abit hard for me to go to my home country as there was the reason why they gave me the DL here as they could not send me back so i am abit confused what to do as i want to change it as soon as i get married.
