bankers draft normally clears in 2-3 days but you can still use it while making an application at the PEO it will have no effect to get you visa .
if its a personal cheque then its different but the bank draft is different

Thank You, would that mean the home office would convey the decision the same day rather than have to wait for the bankers draft to be encashed?

Thank you again.

They will wait for the Banker's Draft to clear. After all it is not unknown for such documents to be forged.

To obtain the possibility of a same-day service you need to pay by card.

Below is the response from HO, i would therefore be taking a print out of this email and making a Bankers Draft and going for a PEO appointment at B'ham. Could anyone comment on this, any experience anyone had of Bankers Draft being rejected at PEO appointment, please share?

Thank you

Your query has been passed to me to respond. You are able to use a
banker's draft to pay for your application at a PEO, without waiting for
it to clear. I hope that this is helpful.

IMPORTANT Please note that the inbox used for this response is for
internal use only. For further queries please call or email one of the
contact centres - the contact details are on the UK Border Agency
website.

What you mentioned here conflicts with many other posts which says that banker's draft is cleared on the same day.

My post was a year ago. It seems that they have changed their policy.

So does it mean that Banker's Draft are cleared immediately at PEO's? and will have no delay in processing the application?

I wish UKBA website is more clear and easy to understand.
