I haven't heard anything either, regarding the passport return.
I first emailed on 15 Sep and reminded them on 3 Oct.
It's my EEA partner's passport only for him to travel at the beginning of Nov but might have to call the number in a few days...

When did u send the request? I called and emailed on 30sep, I hvent received any reply. I think I will call them again today - they kept telling me I have to wait 10working days if there is nth. I really cant wait, it says on the website when its emergency they can despatch within 5 days! I told them its really urgent and.. well they just ignore it n tell me i hv to wait! If i can wait 10working days i dont think it can be considered as emergency. my point of view

I sent return email request 23rd september, received confirmation email 26th september. they issued rc on 27th september and I have received it today.

Final Timeline:

07/07 eea2 sent
23/07 coa received
27/09 rc issued
06/10 rc received.

hi guys

well i am in realy worried situation...i received my a4 residence card on 15 september...but ukba didnt send my passport and my wife passport and all other documents...they sed in covering letter ukba retain our documents and they had conversation with us over the phone about this...but we didnt had any conversation with them about our passports...we send them 2 letters still no reply i dont undastand y they retain our passports when the already issue the residence card...plz any 1 kno about this situation or any one can advice me anything will be very thankfull..many many thanks...

Hi guys let me share my experience.

DEC 16 2010 SENT EEA2 APPLICATION (unmarried partner ).
DEC 20 2010 APPLICATION RECIEVED BY HO.
JAN 18 2011 ARRESTED BY UKBA ( released same day due to pending application).
JAN 20 2011 COA ISSEUD. (Recieved 26/01/2011).
MARCH 23 2011 DECISION MADE ( negative .given right of appeal).
APRIL 4 2011 ( arrested when I went to sign.sent same day to removal centre.served with removal notive.released 5 days before the date .after being detained for 2 weeks).
JUNE. GOT MARRIED AND SENT NEW APPLICATION ( HO recieved it 12 june).
JULY 7 2011 COA ISSUED ( recieved july 14 2011).
SEPT 30 2011.RECIEVED RC (dated 23 aug 2011).
Please note application was sent as spouse of British citezen with Irish passport.we used the Irish passport and we were concerned about the MCARTHY ruling though the new application forms was not in place at that time.
Guys like I said it is well all that ends well.It was a long and trecherous journey and I wish goodluck to all those who are expecting news from HO. Also I say a big thank you to the organizers of this forum.It was a source of comfort,inspiration and hope during my ordeal.GOOD JOB GUYS

I have to say the process of applying for EEA can be a stressful one, especially when we're not in a position to do anything except to wait patiently. Nonetheless, the community here at this forum is the one that keep us together and be mentally strong.

EEA2 application sent on 7th of June.
COA Issued : 6th of July
COA received on 14th of July (dated 6th of July).
RC Issued : 13 september
RC Received : 11 october

my application wasn't really straightforward. my wife who was exercising Treaty rights as student but it was her final year so while our application was on processes she was already graduated and she was doing unpaid intern.
we added our application;
our marriage certificate
my wife school and intern letter
my employer letter
insurance which we bought on WPA(XS Health Insurance which is the cheapest plan for young people)

also thank you very very much! the community here.. it's very helpful and if it's going to be EEA-route application there is no better information than here!

Regardless of the stated perceived complexity is still took just over 4 months which is a very good indication that the timing has improved and gives those of us waiting hope that it will not be long and it will be our turn to share good news.

it appears that july's application are starting to come over... however i may miss something... we applied for my wife's EEA2 (sent to ukba 11 july, received confirmation 12 july), we were already married, and we received i think after 2 weeks a letter from UKBA that says my wife is allowed to work full time so my understanding is that the application will be ok...

my question is... i see other people that sent EEA2 that received the COA... but is that a different case? we got ours when we got married earlier this year..

Can any one help me out here please ,I am a non-Eu and my wife is Eu studying in uk and not working atm i was wondering would that be enough if I attach her grant letter confirming that her uni fees is been paid or do I need a bank statement to prove that we have enough money to support ourselves here.And do I have to get a comprehensive health insurance aswell ??

This is because of confusion between two different things called CoA: -

Certificate of Application - the letter you received from the HO after applying.

Certificate of Approval - which is required to register a marriage.

Thank you for sharing your application with us, now days usally its take 3 to 4 months to get your RC. I suggest you read all recent post on this forum you will get an idea what to expect. I am still waiting for my RC and received my wife EEA1 in six weeks same as your case. Good luck and be patient. Keep update your query and information. Thank you

I received COA with in 6 weeks after we send application EEA2 to home office and COA clearly say that I am eligible to take employment or continue to work while my resident card application is under consideration. Hope you understood regarding your query and before non EU want to marry in UK need apply for COA but this no longer required from the 9 MAY 2011 and this scheme abolished by UKBA so hopefully now your clear with COA which is only one exist in EEA2 application. Here is my timeline again:
Applied on the 18th August 2011
Received by HO on the 19th August 2011
COA recieved on the 5th September, dated 1st September 2011
Requested for Passport return on the 16th September 2011
Received Passport only on the 26th September 2011
Requested for my Wife ID on the 29th September 2011
