Hello All
I wanted to start by thanking everyone for supporting the genuine concerns of applicants and their sponsors, indeed human nature at its best.
I am person who is both tense and nervous and I suppose need to some advice and level of comfort to ensure I have done everything to the best of my limit.
Here is my story:
I am born and bred in the UK of Indian heritage and was married in 2006 to a British national, marriage has not worked and we divorced October 2011. We have 3 children and have been mature about the situation and have kept matters as amicable as possible for the sake of the children. We have arrangements that I will pay utility, mortgage and council tax on the family property (totals £700)
In 2008 I visited India and met someone who was widowed with 2 children, relationship blossomed and we married by Islamic law in 2010. Since 2008 I have been to see my new wife on 14 occasions. After my divorce with my ex-wife in Oct 2011 I registered my new marriage in the India in Nov 2011.
Since 2009, I have been maintaining my family in India. I have a daughter of 17 (18 in June 2012) and a daughter of 7.
Spouse and dependant application is being submitted on Friday the 13th Jan 2012 in Mumbai, and this is what I have provided:
- All my travel evidence to India on the 14 occasions (passport copies certified by lawyer)
- All statements of maintenance payments since 2009 to my family in India and certified letter from bank detailing payment amounts and dates.
- My UK decree absolute
- I am a company director so provided my accountants letter detailing my companies turnover and earnings. Last years full accounts. (this is only my second year in business)
- My business bank statements and client contracts with some invoices.
- My personal bank account statements detailing my outgoings
- My savings, investments, and pensions
- Mortgage statement of my family home
- My wifes english test results to A1 (speaking, listening)
- I have another property where I propose to live with my new family – land registry documents of this and mortgage statements, and environmental health reports.
- Telephone records for the last 18 months – 2 years of contact with my wife.
- Indian Islamic marriage certificate from 2010 and then registration marriage certification from nov 2011 recognising marriage.
- Some family photos
- My wife’s ex-husbands death certificate, children passport and birth certificates and other medical and school documents confirming date of births and address.
- As I am in my forties and my wife in her thirties, our marriage has been a low key affair although we have few photos of religious ceremony and a couple with my in-laws.
I think I have covered all requirements to tick the boxes and am just tense that the slightest of anomaly or oversight on my part can lead to a rejection.
If anyone has had any experiences with India (Mumbai) similar to mine, it would be most helpful to hear from you.
Your help, advice, guidance and critical feedback most appreciated, especially regarding my daughter who turns 18 in June.
From a very nervous husband
