Tier 1 PSW to Tier 1 Dependent

Hi,

My wife is a Tier 1 PSW visa holder and I am a Tier 1 General visa holder. My visa is due for renewal in July 2012. A friend of ours told us today that PSW visa holders cannot switch as Tier 1 dependents in country.

Is this the case?

She can switch into another points based category from within the UK if she qualifies or she can apply for entry clearance from her home country as your dependent.
