Hi, I would suggest that we all should complain to our respective embassies. As they are the ones who represent our country in UK.

Hi friends...i don knw if this will work or not..but wanted to share with all for ur opinion..
I think we international students can mail to our respective homecountry major media news channels on this situation and the torture facing from so called UKBA by holding d passports and our degree certificates for more than 6months without giving visas nd simply delaying the process...some r even jobless n also some r loosing jobs coz of this delay..
We have to request the media news channels to expose the issue nd let our respective government should know that their students r facing such a torture by UKBA to get the PSW visa..So that concern ministers from our representative government may react to the news..
I think this may help us..pls reply with ur opinion..let's fight together..
Thank u...

Hey guys,

Here are my timelines.

Applied: 22 Feb
Acknowledgment: 27 Feb (generated 24 Feb)
Biometric Invitation: 24 March (generated 22 March)
Biometrics Given: 2 April at London Bridge PO
Since then... nothing.

I'm happy for everyone who is receiving their documents and visas back, don't get me wrong. But it is SO disheartening to see people who have applied and done biometrics months after I have, who are receiving their documents back. I know I'm not the only one in this position, and this is really horrible.

I'm thinking of just requesting my docs back and leaving the UK forever. But I've heard that just receiving documents back now can take months, even though it says 20 days on the website. Can anyone help me out on this? How long does it take to receive documents back after requesting?

Thanks, everyone.

Also... SIGN OUR PETITION to stop the UKBA's mistreatment of international students!!

There's not a definite number, but I think it would be more effective with at least 500 people. I'm not going to send it until early next week anyway, because if I send it over the weekend there won't be anyone in office to read it, presumably. So keep telling your friends/family/coworkers to sign! Let's aim for 500, but 1,000 would be better - or as many as possible! Smile

Wow, I thought I was the only one waiting for more than 6 months! I applied for a different visa (just a replacement of my student BRP as it was stolen), I submitted papers on the 4th of February and until this day I haven't received anything...

The worst part is, that after the 6-months limit passed, I called the UKBA and asked for a progress report (as stated in their website and in their call centre)... to my surprise they told me that "actually" is not six months, as the first one "doesn't count" so it means I have to wait until my 7th month (august) of waiting to be able to ask for a progress report...

So I'm just warning you, you won't be able to ask questions, not even after six months... outrageous and honestly, completely inconsiderate...

Good luck, I hope you get some news soon!
