Hi,
We have recently have had our ILR done. My daughter was born in the UK 2 months ago when we were still on work permit. I have not had her added as a dependant in the ILR.
My questions are:
1. Can I directly apply for her British Passport, if not what is the process?
2. Do I need to apply for her Indian passport instead?
3. My wife needs to travel to India with my daughter once the required formalities are done. So timescale wise, which would be the quickest option to allow my daughter to travel out of UK?

Thanks for all the help.

Yes, start with MN1 form to get naturalization certificate

2. Do I need to apply for her Indian passport instead?
I don't think its needed

3. My wife needs to travel to India with my daughter once the required formalities are done. So timescale wise, which would be the quickest option to allow my daughter to travel out of UK

If you get India passport : 1.5 weeks for India passport + few months to get UK visa (in this case you have to get her ILR dependent)

If you get UK passport : 3 - 4 months for naturalization + 6 weeks UK passport + extra time to get India visa.

It depends on how much time u need to spend in India. quick options is get India passport and apply for UK visa from India . Only in case you plan to stay for few months in India

Thanks ukbuddy.
Few questions on the MN1:

1) What information is expected for the question below:
1.1 Please indicate the section of the British Nationality Act 1981 under which you would like the application considered. See Chapter 2 of the guide for details.

Will this be "Children born in the UK - Section 1 (3) and 1 (3A) application" in my case?

2) From where do I get:
1.2 Immigration and Nationality Directorate or Border and Immigration Agency or UK Border Agency reference number.

3) What is the present Nationality of my child? Is it same as the parents when the child was born (i.e. Indian)
1.9 Present nationality

Thanks again

section 1 (3) should be fine. (i assume u have not joined armed forces so 3A is not for you)

1.2: It should be in some letters you got from UKBA. Leave blank if you are not sure

Also, make sure to read MN1 guide before you fill form as it has good information
