| My mum is Austrian am Ghana I have my 5yrs resident card expiring next year.I want to know if I can become an austrain citizen instead of British.thanks in advance |

I assume you live in the UK??
I believe Austria requires you to live in Austria for several years before being able to apply for Austrian citizenship. |

| Was your mother Austrian at the the time you were born? If not, there are generally residence requirements to obtain Austrian citizenship. Why would you want to do that, anyway? You would have to give up any other citizenship. Being British means that you are also EU citizen. |
