Hi
I need some advise for my Brother who is a British Citizen, He claims Disability Living Allowance, He would like to bring his wife and 3 children to the UK to live with him, Is there anyway he will be able to bring his wife to UK ? Because he is claiming benefit I am willing to sponsor his family and himself and I am able to provide housing and any thing he might need while in UK.
I would appreciate any advise
Thank you |

| There is a financial concession for sponsors on DLA, so this might be possible . |

Thank you Casa and peppekalle for the the reply and for the link (peppekalle) I have tried contacting the solicitor mentioned on the link provided by (peppekalle) but unfortunately he has left the firm, I have contacted 2 other solicitors in London all of them said the application will be rejected if he claims Disability Living Allowance, Does anyone Know any good solicitors in London who has dealt with this type of case before ?
Thank you |

As the rules have only just been introduced, applications won't have been processed yet, but a reputable immigration solicitor should know of the DLA concession. Here's the confirmation from the UKBA statement of changes point 91:
91. An applicant whose sponsor is in receipt of any of the following disability-related benefits
will be exempt from the financial requirement in respect of that application stage:
• Disability Living Allowance.
• Severe Disablement Allowance.
• Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit.
• Attendance Allowance.
• Carer’s Allowance.
and here's the link: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/documents/news/soi-fam-mig.pdf |
