| The money for my application was taken out on Aug 21st and I received my acknowledgement letter on the 24th. It is now the 7th and I still haven't received my biometric letter. It is getting to 3 weeks. I know they say 2 to 4 weeks is the waiting period but from what I gather, 2 weeks is the usual norm. Should I start panicking? |

Two weeks isn't a lot of time. 3-4 weeks is the norm.
I'm in the same boat. Sent application on the 10th of August and acknowledgement letter received on the 14th of August. Will update as soon as I receive it. Please do the same. |

| I posted on 22/8/12 and received the acknowledgement letter 1 week later dated 23/8/12. Yet to receive the biometric invitation letter as of today. |

Oh wow. Congrats.
Seems they are processing them in batches. I called up UKBA yesterday and mine was processed on the 10th too.
Just waiting for it in the mail. Will update as soon as I receive it. |

Does anyone know if its possible to phone up UKBA to ask what is the current status of the application? (Haven't received the biometric invitation letter, so would like to ask about it)

| Also, have anyone received their visa yet? They say it can take between 4-14 weeks, but I really hope its towards the lower end... |

| Hi Florenceday1, I actually received the letter on the 26th after 4 weeks of my initial application. Now I'm just waiting for a decision, would be great if you could let us know here when you hear back to have a rough idea of how long they are taking! |

I posted my application on the 13th September, received ack letter on 20th (dated 18th) and I'm still waiting for the biometric letter. Seems like most of you guys receive biometric letters 4 weeks after your application sent but I'm still a bit worried  |

Which number did you call to require about the process of your application? I tried calling the number given on my ack letter but they say they don't give information about the application status anymore? |

Actually I think that it might take even longer now, due to the increased number of applications (london metropolican case) |

In my case, my university's international office have a contact person within the UKBA which they can ring up to chase if they are taking too long. Therefore maybe try asking your uni first? |
