Dear All,
I am new to this forum and was advised by a relative to put my doubts regarding the Canadian immigration here. I am a Civil Engg. by profession with a MS degree. Me and my wife are Indian Citizen and my 2 year old son is an American Citizen. I am currently located in the KSA and planning to file for Canadian immigration.
I don't want to give away my son's American Nationality.
I am aware of dual citizenship concept but what I understand is while getting the Canadian Citizenship my Son needs to give away his American Nationality and then re-apply again after becoming a Canadian.
1. Can my son become a Canadian National, while still holding American Nationality.
2. If applying for Dual Citizenship, will he get the American Citizenship back?
3. Can my son be on PR and me and my wife get Canadian Passport?
Thank you,
Syed |

If I am not mistaken, that was put on hold back in the 70's, hence your son doesn't have to give up his US citizenship.

Yes, he can.

He will never lose it, unless he decides at 18 to renounce to it. However, he will have to enter the US with his US passport, and will have to enter Canada with his Canadian passport.
