My nephew had applied for a BTECH IT course , requirements was IELTS 5.5 BUT scored 5.0
The college suggested he apply for 6 month english course , resit the ielts in England then progress on to Btech in IT.

i then deposited £7.200 for 28 days in his bank account and have recieved a CAS today.

What is the best form to apply for Student visitor or student pbs tier 4
iam worried the UKBA in dubai may refuse as the course is only 6 months and there is NO mention that he will go on to progress.

Also though i paid 50% on the deposit for the CAS i did not deposit the remaining 50% in the bank
So the bank statement for 28 days shows only £7,200

Will this be a problem or can i provide a letter to say that i will be responisible for paying the balance upon arrival in the UK or is too late

please i would be gratefull if someone with experience can reply

There is no college/course which gurantee that student will go on to progress.

Now as you have gone half way through so it better to apply Tier-4 visa.

Usually, Tier-4 visa cannot be refused if applicant scored all points and do not have any bad immigration history.

As you mentioned CAS is for 6 months English course, you need to show money as following:

Full course fee + £6000 (£1000 each month) - CAS Deposit = Money required (28 days)

Suppose course fee is £5000 and you have deposited 50%:

£5000+£6000-£2500 = £8500 Money required (28 days)

If you wont show money as per requirement, visa will be refused. There is 10 points for money which requires valid bank statement according to guidance. You cannot provide any personal letter or gurantee for it.

Only student or official legal guardian of the student can show bank statement for visa application.

So if you want to show your bank statement you need to show any documentary proof that you are a legal guardian of the applicant.

The college is not the one issuing the visa. It doesn't matter if they know you are paying. There is no reduction in the living costs requirement due to living with a family member. Being an uncle does not make you legal guardian.

Yes you can pay the remaining fees even after the Cas has been issued. You will however need to get a receipt for the fees from the uni or ask them to update the Cas.

Is he studying in inner London or outer London/
Elsewhere in the UK?
