Whoeover is applying for FLR(M), what is his/her current immigration category?
If PBS dependant then have you checked if it is really necessary to switch from PBS dependant to FLR(M)? _________________ Life isn't fair, but you can be! |

Sorry sushdmehta, my mistake as didnt write about my immigration status. I really appreciate that you help ppl via this forum.
I am querying this flr(m) documets on behalf of my wife.
My status- (HSMP in Nov 2007 and then tier1 for 3 yrs in Nov 2009) to ILR last week. We got married in January this year and she came to UK in Jauary 2012 as dependent of tier-1. He visa is only valid until 3 Nov as my tier-1 visa was valid 3rd Nov 2012.
So now as per my understanding she need to apply for flr(m) as dependant of a "settled person" ? Plz confirm if this is correct and my documents checklist.
Thank you |

ok, i have now checked and it seems she has both option of extending as dependent of PBS or extending under FLR(M) which honestly made me more confused .
i would still prefer to go under FLR(M) as form clearily states spouse of a "settled person" as I am no longer under PBS but "settled person" so sounds to me more relevant and have seen in this forum many ppl going via this route. It doesnt matter of number of documents stc as I have already booked appointment and printed form etc and all documents still in file intact for my ILR peo extension as i willl be using same?
Please Sush can you confirm if I am doing it ok (considering I am fine with paper work) and is my checklist of documents are in order as mentioned above.
I thank you. |

Shalini - Hoping your application is thru and you have got your VISA.
My wife is also switching from Tier 2 to FLR(M) as I recently got ILR. But we are confused about "Proof of English Language Requirement". She holds BE degree but we are not sure whether we need to get uk naric certificate of comparability and letter from university stating that the degree is taught in English.
How did you get the English language eligibility confirmation from Self-assessment Tool as this tool is only for PBS?
Did UKBA accept the copy from Self-assessment Tool or did you provide any other documents along with Degree certificates and transcripts.
Thanks, Vinay |
