Tier 2 Short Term ICT to Long Term ICT Extension

Hi,

I am currently on Tier 2 Short Term ICT valid till Feb 28, 2014. For a extension from short term to long term, can application be made from within UK??

Also,does the stamping and whole process happen while in UK or one needs to travel outside UK to home country (which is India in my case as my base location is India)?


Please advise.

you have to apply for entry clearance from your home country (it is not an extension)

Thanks manci. So I can apply within UK and entry clearance will be from home country, meaning the long term visa stamping wll happen in the home country?

you cannot apply for entry clerance from the UK, only from youir home country

I am on ICT ST expiring July 2014 and I will have to apply for LT . I know I will have to go back to my home country to do this.

My question is what is the maximum time in advance I can do this? Can I apply now/April/May?

you can apply any time within the 3 month validity period of your new CoS

To confirm- I as a ST T2 ICT holder can apply for a LT T2 ICT, as long as I have a new CoS for the LT. Applying for LT does not depend upon the time left for ST Visa (even if I will be working for the same client?)
