I applied on the 5/11/2013 and the payment has been taken today 13/01/2013.Apparently the delay was due to large volume of applications before the rules change at the end of October.

- Its been 6.5 weeks now and i have not received an acknowledgement yet?
- On the ukba website they say in busy times it can take up to 4 weeks? Is it normal for acknowledgment to take very much longer than 4 weeks?
- Is there a number of email i can use to find out the status and if there is a problem or do i just play the waiting game?

My approval letter arrived on 11/01/2014, dated 09/01/2014. I have been looking for my original post in this forum to update, but can not find the exact page.

HO received my application on the 22nd of October 2013.

3 years HSMP, 2 Years tier 1 and 1 year ILR.

your post gives me bit of hope! I applied on 1/11/13, UKBA received it on 4/11/13 and haven't heard from them since! They didn't deduct the fee yet and no acknowledgement letter received either! I don't mind them taking their time, I just want to know they didn't accidentally shredded the whole thing (or similar...). Anyone else posted it at the beginning of November or before that and still haven't heard a thing???

I don't think you need to worry, they will probably debit your account very soon. Although if they haven't done that by the end of the week you can always contact them and make an enquiry. As I've mentioned in my previous posts my application was sent before Alex_11's one but his account has been debited and mine has not. From my experience with the HO I can say that they do not follow a strict chronological order with applications. But hopefully, our accounts will be debited by the end of the week, fingers crossed!

Acknowledgement letter came on the 20th dated 14th. I have sent an email and got the standard reply! I will have to request my passport back because I need it to apply to college and travel to out in march. The email said it won't effect my application but I am a bit weary.
