Congratulation Raja on the great news. I am sure you were carrying a heavy weight and you dropped it.

Did your lawyer explain the delay by the way?

I take it you did not get in touch with your MP by the time you had your passport back?

Thanks

My application was straightforward as I did not have any gap , however
I was worried because :

*My original passport was robbed (So I have attached the police report)
*My Visa expiry date was just 11 days short of completing 10 years

Additional supporting documents ( as my old passport is not available)
*I have sent p60 / p45 to cover the years [ for old passport]
*Sent all letters from home office during the period (which are availableand some I got from SAR request)
*Photo copy of my old passport
*I have attached 2/3 pages from SAR document showing I have no gap ( I did not sent the big file )

Applied On: 27th Se
ILR Stamped On : 18th Nov
Received On: 25th Nov

ak1612 wrote:OMG!!! I've got my ILR today!!! Can't describe how I feel! Thanks to immigrationboards for all the info and support! This is my first post here, but I've been following u for ages :)

Will post my details and timeline below, think it might help others.

Came to this country 17/10/2001 as a student
then changed to Student dependant of my student wife in august 2006
then Tier 2 in August 2009

Sent my Set(0) application on 24/09/2011 (just couple of weeks before 10 years)
And received my ILR today 25/11/2011!

I was really worried because when I applied as a dependant of my wife in 2006, I have used the wrong form and my application was rejected. I have reapplied out of time, as soon as I received a letter from HO they kept my documents for 2 months and my visa has already expired by the time I received the letter from HO saying that the application form was wrong, but they gave me 14 weeks to reapply. I received my extention in august 2006.
So I had a gap in continuous stay, don't remember how many days exactly, but well more then permited 10!
I have only submited my passport (I only had one passport during these 10 years) , SET (O) application, police certificates and life in the UK.
Didn't supply pre-paid envelope and didn't use solicitor.
Maybe it was abit risky in my sircumstances but I thought my application was streightforward up until 2 weeks ago when I came across a thread on this forum when ILR was rejected because of the gap and then I remembered about my gap in 2006 )))
Sorry for my long and confusing message, hope it will give some reassurance to anyone with similar gap as I really needed a message like this when I was worrying myself to death for the last 2 weeks and I couldn't find anything.
Good luck to everyone!
AK
Congratulations AK. Just goes to show that sometimes we need not worry. Anyway, what date was your ILR stamped?
