Hey guys!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been a silent follower on this forum for a long time.Seeing everyone getting their passports back is actually a relief, its what I hung on to....After praying and fasting for an early return of my passport so I can go home for my friend's wedding.Got a call from my lawyer this morning couldn't believe it; but it was what it was....
Here are my timeline

Type of application: Long term residency 10 years based on STUDENT

application posted Royal mail special delivery: 24/08/11
Application received: 25/08/2011
Payment taken: 05/09/11(cheque)
Acknowledgment letter dated: 05/09/11
ILR stamped liverpool: 01/11/11
Passport received:10/11/11 (exactly 11 weeks)

I used a lawyer although my case was very straightforward,no breaks,no tickets what so ever,I thought lawyer would speed it up which didn't but glad I got my passport back anyway....

I sent all necessary documents such as passport,Life in the UK test,Certificates from my courses, bank statements, payslips and P60....

Congratulations in advance to those waiting and keep believing God afterall HO are people like me and you,so there is nothing God cannot do to change their hearts....

Its a big joy....no renewal date on the permit...wow

Hussam... congratulations my man.

I am so glad to hear you finally got your passport back. When I saw the reference number of my prepaid envelop on Royal Mail the night before, I went nuts, I could not even wait for the postman and I was running/driving around looking for him. Even though I never met my local postman, I established that his name is Tony and some vague descriptions of his appearance through some of his colleagues lol. Good job it was on a Saturday, I do not know whether I would have gone to work if my passport was being delivered on a weekday.

Anyway, congratulations again and hope vien1206 and raja1976 get their passports back this week, they are the longest standing members on the pending list.

Good luck everyone!

Hussam

Hello all,

here are the details. I was very relieved to have the passport back. I needed to travel urgently so as soon as I got the passport today I went on to book the tickets for my travel

The place and date of issue on passport is Liverpool dated 03/11/11 and same on the accompanying letter.

I received the passport today i.e. 09/11/11 around 0715. It came back in a prepaid special delivery envelope that I sent with my initial application which had a next day before 9am delivery

The documents I sent with the initial application
  • All previous passports
    Photographs
    Letter from the employer
life in the UK pass letter
bank statement from both current and saving account
    last six months payslips
    last three years p60s
    Bachelor certificate
    Masters certificate
    Enhanced CRB disclosure
past homeoffice letters i.e. those issues with past visas
I was 6 years student
4 years HSMP

I did the application myself without going to any lawyer. I am pleased with the speed of service. Based on the data on this forum I calculated that my passport will arrive on 11/11/11 however I got it 2 days earlier which was a good thing.

What else? Please let me know if you have any questions.

Lastly I would like thank this board and ah Kassem. You guys been great support.

Success Story!

Post by dewales001 » Wed Nov 09, 2011 8:43 pm

Hi Everyone,

I am happy to say that earlier on today, I was reunited with my passport containing the ILR Visa and the stress of it finally lifted.

Really don’t know how to express my joy and believe. When my wife called me on Monday to deliver the good news, I couldn’t believe it, I was all agog! Why?

My case wasn’t that straight forward. I do not have any gaps between my Visas; always renew my valid Leave to remain at the PEO using the premium services, no significant absence from the UK in the last 10 Years. However, I have two Traffic Offences with Penalty points and Fines in 2008 and 2010. Please note: These offences were disclosed on my SET (O) application form.
Below is my application timeline:
Application posted via Royal Mail Special delivery... 31/08/2011
Application received by HO in Durham...01/09/2011
Payment taken (Debit Card)...05/09/2011
Acknowledgment letter received on... 07/09/2011 (Dated 05/09/2011)
Passports received from UKBA... 07/11/2011
ILR stamped and letter dated...28/10/2011 (Issued in Liverpool)
Qualifying period: 8 Years Student Visa + nearly 2 Years on PSW
Total waiting time: 69 days
Documents sent with application to UKBA... My 10 Years Passports, 2 Passport Photographs, SET(O) Application form, copies of my all Visas pages, copies of entry and exit stamps pages and LIUT Certificate (original).
Documents received from UKBA... My passports and LIUT Certificate.

Good luck to others waiting, hope you get your Passports soon. Thank you all and God bless!

let us hope that you do not have to wait for another 10 weeks. I hope you will get an answer shortly. Ok I have been suggesting to other to call thier local MP for different thibgs, Why you do not contact yours and tell him that others have been waiting for an average of 10 weeks, why you do not ask him to get on your case and push UKBA to work.

Yes, I have already contacted my mp last week as well. I have not mentioned this because my MP called UKBA on Monday and hasn't heard back from them yet. I hope he called them using a different number - i.e. a more direct contact inside the UKBA. I will let you know when my MP update me.

Thanks for your kind wishes, and I hope the best for your case as well. I fully understands your feeling on postman at the moment :)

Hi Vien,

indeed we are all in this together. I really hope you get your passport soon. you are the one who suffered the longest. no news about your letter?

ah_kassem
No replies for the letter or update for the case. I called up UKBA 2 days ago they said the only way of communication is via letter, however they do not give any acknowledgement of receiving letters, the only way of tracking is via Royal Mail side.

Also, they mentioned that no update will be given via the phone within 6 month of application, but however, do ring them if your case is over 6 month! The option I chose was 2, to request ID back.

I don't know if we have any silent follower here who has been waiting over 6 month?? I am certainly heading this way!! Hopefully this info will be useful to you.
