10 years long residence applications

Hello all,

Thank you ah_kassem again for your wishes and keeping this forum tidy and congratulations to those who received their documents back today. It turned out to be a decent week after all. It is interesting how Donking 1 and I posted our messages at the exact same minute.

To add more to my case, I was a student for six years and four years Tier 1 (General), I have no criminal record and a clean driving licence, I always made my extension applications in time, and none of which were rejected.

The only documents (all originals, I did not send any photocpies) I sent with this application are as follows:

- Life in the UK test certificate
- Police Registration Certificate
- 2 Photos
- Current and all previous passports.

It has been apparent that the amount of documents sent with the application are irrelevant to the processing time, I also have a feeling that the UK Border Agency only sends batches of passports back once or twice towards the end of the week, and those who receive theirs back midweek, are doing so because they were sent Second Class Recorded Delivery.

I wish all those still waiting for their passports past their ninth week that they get them back in the near future.

I guess there is a strong probability that we all meet here at around this time next year when applying for naturalisation.

ANy one ILR refused? ANy one knows that for what reason ILR could be refused or they know any one with ILR refused as i am too much worried

qaziji my man don't worry about it, the delay does not necessarily mean the application is being rejected, I totally understand the level of your anxiety which I guess we all know too well share with you here.

In AdamBoston’s case, it took fourteen and a half weeks for his application to be completed, only to find out that his passport was stamped then sat around for almost three weeks before it was posted back to him.

We tried to analyse the processing pattern but so far, it appeared to be totally random.

I hope this puts your mind at ease to a degree. We all just need to have faith and hope for the best.

If anyone’s application has been rejected, please share your experience with us (hopefully this query is not applicable to anybody)

I do not think there is a reason to worry qaziji. However from reading the guidlines I can only think of three grounds for refusal, please all correct me if I am wrong:
1. if in the past 10 years you have more than once applied to renew your visa after it has expired, and the late application was your own fault,
2. you have really significant gaps,
3. if you have committed a serious crime, but the problem I am not sure what the UKBA will consider a serious crime is, driving offence do not seem to fall into that catigory.

I am sure that non of us fall into this catigory. and since I have started looking at this forum I have not heard of anyone not being granted ILR provided they have provided all the evidence.

I hope this was helpful and please do not worry eventually the papers will e back. I applied before looking at this forum and I prepared for my self for 6 months waiting hoping that it will be shorter.

Lets see what happens, i have no gaps never visa refused in 10 yeas total 270 days with longest trip of 60 days out side UK no criminal record and dont drive

This week turned out just to be as last week although it took til the end of the week to get the passports but they arrived nontheless.

Payment by Bankers Draft
Acknowledgement letter received by 26/08/11
payment taken- Well no way of knowing as I paid by Bankers Draft
ILR stamped 27th October -LIVERPOOL
Tatal waiting time: approx 11 Weeks

Interestingly I sent passport 4 clear days before the 28 days window by mistake.
I'm greatfull to all of you on this forum particulelry Vinnny, Al_kassem and all the moderators and contributors for the advice and support during this anxious weeks.

Good morning everyone...

I am delighted to deliver my good news this morning. My passport has just been delivered literally few minutes ago. I remember checking my Special Delivery reference number last night after coming back from work at around 5:50pm and there was still no trace of it being posted. Only in the early hours of the morning I checked again to find that it has been posted.

Here is my timeline in details:

Application sent 25 August
Payment cleared from Credit Card on 31 August
Acknowledgement letter dated 31 August
ILR stamped on 28 October (Liverpool)
Prepaid Special Delivery envelop posted on 4 Nov (after 5:50pm)
Received this morning 5 November

I am out to celebrate now, but I will be back on later on today/tonight to share my experience and/or answer any questions.

Congratulations to tradle1 and thanks to maahir for the information. Yes it appears the amount of supporting documents is not relevant, it also appears that the 9.5 weeks average time is getting skewed. Out of six people who applied on the 15th of Aug, four received their passports back.

Whilst there are exceptional cases still waiting considerably longer, many people passed their 11 week mark whilst me and ah_kassem are on the tenth week now

Let’s hope we have a better week next week

Just a quick note to share that my wife's ILR-10 yrs category arrived yesterday (exactly in 4 weeks). Application sent: 3 October ILR received: 3 November (ILR stamped a week ago).

Few of you might remember, if you have've read my earlier posts, my documents and passports were mishadled and were sent to someone else address. I had complained to the HO and also through my MP, HO had apologised and given me a direct number to contact and had assured that they will give my application a special priority. I have yet to get my ILR (also 10 yrs category: applied same date), which I hope to get in a couple of days.

Finally, thanks to this forum and its helpful members for your kind help in the time of need.
