Hi Shri997, the dates I have mentioned are all correct. I have the Royal Mail tracking numbers, but can't post it here....WWW reasons.

Its 17th Oct (Liverpool) on my ILR stamp, received today 20th Oct.

My friend Firoz applied back in March.....10 year student....he got his ILR in 22 days! So, you never know.

Guess what guys! My long waited passport has just arrived with the ILR stampon it!

I have a little confession to make. For whatever reason I mentioned here that I applied on the 8th of August, I actually applied on the 15th. Here is my timeline:

Application sent: 15th August
Ack received: 17th August (Paid by postal order)
ILR stamped: 17th October
Received: 20th October.

As you all know how I relieved I am, nearly lost my new job.

some advice for new applicants:

1. Postal order, bank draft or credit card...doens't make any difference...UKBA will take whatever time they want...and you can't do anything about it.

2. Return special delivery envelop....doens't matter..most of us here got their passport back after a few days it was stamped.

3. DO NOT send too many (Unnecessary documents)....it will only annoy them and delay the process. READ the form very carefully...the most important and probably the only proof they need is that you stayed here LEGALLY for 10 years. If you can prove that...you are good to go.

4. Expedite letter won't help...they won't even read it before throwing it to the bin! I sent one......trust me.....

And most of all...don't lose hope....keep faith in almightly.

Passport received date : 17th October 2011 (2nd class tracked by royal mail).

Student Visa 5 year and six months. 1 Year SGES (Science and engineering Gradate schemes). 3 year and six months HSMP. One gap (i think but iam not sure as i went last day Croydon PEO to extend student visa on same day and they give me new appointment. Ask more doc from university)

ILR Stamp date: 11th october 2011
Passport received date : 18th October 2011 (I had included a special delivery return envelope with my application). Passport was sent back from the Liverpool office.
Total waiting time: approx 10 weeks.

Its been 9 weeks since i posted my application.my real waiting time begins now.I am expecting my passport within two weeks from today.good luck to everyone who are waiting.

Hi vien and Adam,did you post your application after completing 10 years or in that 28 days period before 10 years?somebody told me sometimes it makes difference for processing time.

I applied 24 days before my 10th anniversary (within 28 days). So we have 2 different situations i.e. myself who applied before the 10th anniversary and vien applied after competing his 10 years. We both applied on the same day (18th July) and both are still waiting for the decision. My case is quite straight forward; no gaps, no criminal or traffic offences or convictions etc etc. My wife's FLR(M) is also connected to my ILR application, perhaps due to that there's a delay in my case. I don't know I am just guesstimating.

My waiting time was 10.5 weeks – 10 years long residence

Application sent out on 27 July 2011
Acknowledgement letter dated on 01 August 2011 and received on 04 August 2011
Payment made by Debit card
Passport stamped on 04 Oct 2011 and received on 12 Oct 2011

Furthermore, I had no gaps and no significant absences on my case, but I had traffic offence with fixed penalty of £200 and 6 point taken from my driving license in 2009. I had CRB Check which says I am free of any unspent criminal conviction and I still felt that I should be honest about the traffic offence disclosure explained in my cover letter and provided some support document as well.
