Can I work full time while my ILR application is being processed?

I am still on a work permit, but have recently been made redundant.

10 year ILR application is pretty straight forward, no gaps, no criminal records.

One of my friends told me that yes I can work while my application is being processed as I have stayed here legally for 10 years and therefore fulfilled the criteria. The acknowledgement letter can be used as a proof along with the passport photocopies?

Please help.

I sent mine on 27/08 and got my acknowledgement from Croydon as well. the person who sent his after mine got it from croydon as well. as for the others I am not sure.

I sent my application off on 21th June 2011 but soon it got sent back invalid because the UKBA was not able to receive the application fee using the card number I provided on the application form.

I have noticed my bank beforehand that UKBA would get certain amount of money from my bank account but it got refused somehow, so I wrote a cheque and resubmitted my application on 1st July 2011.

After two months of waiting, I got my passport back on 7th September 2011 with my ILR visa on it , though on the letter of approval it stated that my case was approved on 26th August 2011, it took more than 10 days to reach back to me

Can I just ask you couple of things. How did u receive your documents back when home office made yr application invalid? royal mail special delivery or recorded delivery? Also when yr application was made invalid did u still valid leave to remain or yr visa was already expired?

Basically I used a solicitor for my case as I needed to make sure that IT would go well, this maybe my once in a life time chance as I heard a lot of news that the gov was fading out 10 year long stay residency, but after having a solicitor I found that they were completely useless, I came to this site to gather all the information that I needed for everything, well, I suppose I just some assurance for this one to go well so badly:oops: .

So when UKBA couldn't process the payment the first time they returned my files to my solicitor and my solicitor phoned me up and asked me to pay UKBA by postal order, I popped into my local post office and the staff was quite surprised that I was gonna send £972 by postal order as for each postal order there is a limit which is £250 plus fees of £10(correct me if I'm wrong), if I were to send it by postal order I'd need 4 postal orders and fees of $40, that would not be very economically to do comparing sending a cheque, so I phoned my solicitor up and explained the situation and questioned her why she asked me to do the expensive way, she said she DID NOT KNOW, then saying that sending a cheque would be okay, as I mentioned it before, this solicitor is useless, I even knew more stuff than she could've offered me thanks to his forum, as a result, I sent a cheque off to my solicitor and she resubmitted the application afterwards.

I had a Tier 2 General work permit which expires in 2013 therefore it didn't affect me.

Olelampaso, got his ILR around 2.5-3 weeks ago if I remember correctly. Maybe the entries he made about this here have been deleted by the Mods when they cleaned up messages last week.

He never received an acknowledgement letter after applying on 21st May. His SAR requested docus arrived well after he had applied for ILR in Week 10 or 11 indicating that his ILR stamped passport had been delivered to his old address...luckily people at his old address kept the passport so he was finally able to go pick it up. His lead time from applying to delivery to old address was 8-9 weeks but he ended up picking the passport another 3-4 later than that. So all in all 12-13 weeks. I'm sure Olelampaso will correct these timelines slighlty if he sees the message. Also, I had suggested to him that maybe his acknowledgement letter also went to his old address, since he never received one after applying.

Finally got the ilr today...
my details of timeline is as follows:
send application on 4th july
payment taken on 8th july(postal order, called postal order department and found it out)
acknowledgement letter got on 6th july
stamped ilr on 26th august,
received passport on 9th september 2011
on 5th july found out that i filled wrong version of set O 04/2011
after great dilema send corect version of set o 05/2011 through lawyer on 23rd.
i dont think that my correct version of form worked it out for me.. as i send it on 23rd i dont think they looked at it and stamped it on 26th august..
anyway i am really happy..
i want to take this oppurtunity to thank all the forum member who helped me immensely...
those who are waiting for ilr to stamped , they will soon get their, there is not doubt about it and those who are about to apply good luck
