She also had similar problems as I did in that she had a gap of 2 months and as a results didnt have a visa for 6 months.

Happy ending.
Hi Joh118

When did she apply? After or before 6 April? Was it under the 10 years long residence?

It seems that the application took about 8 weeks. I made an application on the 18 April. Presumably the UKBA may be dealing with April applications.

Thanks
She applied before 6th April.
Why else would I post this under "10 years long residence SET (O) waiting times" if it wasnt under 10 year long residence?

you should get your passport very soon.

I have applied for ILR on 10 years category and sent my application on 7 March 2011.

I noticed some of the members have replied as successful for applications sent in march.

Anyone still waiting to hear from UKBA as myself for the applications sent in march 2011??

And also it would be very supportive if the timescales for any more successful applications sent in March 2011 are listed in this forum
I have received my passport today with ILR stamped on 1 June 2011. They took around 13 weeks to process. Good luck to everyone else waiting.

One more thing, UKBA has completely ignored my special delivery envolope sent with the application for the return of my docs and sent the passport back through second class recorded delivery.

It appears that since end of March the UKBA may be slowing down their processing times. It seems those posted from end of March are still awaiting.

Could members update their situation whether they have received a reply or are still awaiting? This would allow other people to have a "clearer" picture of what to expect.

Cheers

Hello Friends!!

Finally I received my ILR too. :D :D :D
I would like to thank this forum and all of those who have posted here to help others, many thanks to moderators and those who helped me. I had a very straight forward case with No Gaps at all or absences.
I did not use online form!!!

My Process was as follows:

Application posted on 22rd March 2011
Akcnowledgement received dated 24th March 2011
ILR Stamped 27th April 2011 Liverpool office.

A speedy process, even there were few bank holidays.

Documents sent:
1-All passports
2- Pictures
3- Life in UK Test ( It has been returned to me)

Additional Documents: (Not compulsory)

1-Bank statement for 1 month only
2- P60's for last 2 years
3- GP reg. cards since i've been here.
4- A covering letter
5- Letter from employer
6- All degrees/certificates received in UK.

My time spent in UK was made of:
8 years on Student
2 years PSW

Guys bare in mind, that the additional docs which I sent were not required, but I still sent them :P

Once again thanks to all and good luck to those who are still waiting. Your time will come soon :D

Regards

Abdu

Dear all,

Some good news, thank God!

I finally received my passport with ILR this morning. This forum is invaluable.

I decided to post my passport myself but I did have help from a solicitor friend to draft the cover letter.
I was advised by solicitor to include any official documentation, one for each year I have been in the UK. I also included last 3 months statement.

Posted 1/03/11 and acknowledgement received a few days later
Passport received 07/05/11, it was stamped in Liverpool on 04/05/11

PR obtained

Post by younoy » Thu May 05, 2011 12:55 pm

Following my previous post, I would like to share my application experience:

Filled SET(O) application form online and made my payment online in Feb 2011
SET (O) Application form posted: 09 Mar 2011 by special delivery
Acknowledgement Letter dated: 07 Mar 2011
Acknowledgement Letter received: 10 Mar 2011
Documents received in post: 04 May
ILR in the passport dated: 21 Apr 2011 (Liverpool)
Processing time: 6 weeks (from application received to PR issued)

It was 6 year students, 1 year graduate working visa, 3.5 year student (still studying)

My case is NOT straightforward. If you have no gap, you do not need to read further. I entered the country in Oct 2000. I overstayed in Oct 2001 after my 1-year student VISA expired. I was 16 at the time and was studying in a boarding school. My school took my passport to apply for VISA on my behalf, which they did not. Therefore I have a single large gap of almost 60 days. I have always applied in time for the rest of my stay. Another problem was that I spent too much time outside the UK. As a student, I had many long vacations outside the UK over the years. I did an internship in almost every summer vacation and the places have been all over the world, not just my home country.

I did not use a lawyer. In order to support my application, I sent a long list of documents, including:
1 Cover letter explaining the situation of the single gap, my contribution towards British society (donation and fundraising towards charity totaling over £10,000 over the years), financial tie (bought a house in 2008) and my outstanding research work in my field.
2 Life in the UK exam certificate
3 Letter from boarding school to confirm my attendance
4 Letter from college to confirm my first degree
5 Letter from employer to confirm my year-long work experience
6 Letter from current university to confirm my PhD study
7 Letter from supervisor to support my application, he kindly explained the signification of my discovery in the field.
8 Land registry certificate for my house
9 6 month Bank statements with over £100,000 investment in equity
10 one Payslip for every 4 month from 2007 to 2011 (My PhD is fully funded)
11 Self written detailed travel history table, where I specified the location, length and objective of every internship I undertook.
12 A long list of references for my charity work, university studies and internship supervisors.

I hope my experience can help those do not have a straightforward case. Just be honest but do not be shy to sell yourself. Good luck everyone and I would be happy to help fellow applicants in similar situations.
