can someone please tell me:
where did you hear that we can be enquiring about the progress of application after 3 months? In my acknowledgement letter none of the timeline is mentioned - instead they wrote that I should not disturb them before they will write back to me.

One small query. You wrote 'However, your passports may also suffice for this purpose, depending on what visa you have been on'.

Please could you slightly expand on what exactly you mean by 'depending on what visa you have been on'. Thanks.
I meant that if you if have been solely on student visas for the whole of the duration of the 10 years and those visas overlap one another without any gaps, then your passport should suffice to prove your residence, without needing documents from your educational establishment (the requirement clearly states "passports OR...")

Some "10-year students" sometimes have periods when they have been on visitor visas, working holiday visas or part PSW, in which case I would imagine some form of confirmation from the employer may be needed. That said, this is only an opinion, the NCS may be able to provide a better answer, so I would recommend you use their service when applying (£40 is not a lot in the grand scheme of things). And I for one would be glad to hold on to my documents for once, having just had the luxury of spending 7 months without my passport.

The list of documents can be found on page 16 of this document.

Going by the list in Section 3, I expect you would need to provide letters from educational establishments if you have been a student the whole time. However, your passports may also suffice for this purpose, depending on what visa you have been on. That's my take on it anyway. You'll probably get more responses in the nationality forum I think. Sorry guys, OT I know.

People who have completed all 10 years of their continuous legal stay in the UK purely on a student visa and after having applied and received their ILRs from the Home Office, what are the ‘standard documents’ they may have to submit when they are then applying for citizenship after having received their ILRs (esp. if they have neither studied nor worked in the 12 months after they received their ILRs)?
So many people on this thread having applied for ILR under 10 year continuous legal stay have received their ILRs of late....no one has any idea what are the 'standard documents' that have to be submitted when applying for citizenship after 12 months of receiving ILR (for those who have received ILR after spending all 10 years in the UK on a student visa)?

£15,000. ???????? why ? who would choose this service ??????
This is for people like footballers, cricketers, entertainers, athletes etc who want to enter the country quickly and money is no object.
It is not for ordinary people

Hey guys,

Very glad to see all the good news that's been happening since I was last on :-)

For all the good karma NoWayOut has been dishing out on this forum with the tidy arrangement and updating of the list, I am sure she'll be receiving hers very soon too!!

Looking forward to reconvene with you guys on the other parallel nationality forum. What with an incoming Conservative govt. (if polls are to be believed), I am sure there will be loads to discuss.

Congrats again guys :-)

Meanwhile, i just got my SAR aknowledgement letter today. The UKBA's shambolic admin managed to change my surname to something completely different but it's still progress!
