@Sami007, I cant generalise, but as long some tax and NI have been paid your friend should be alright, but dont complicated your application by submitting unecessary Documents.

Arrived in the Uk on 10th of Nov 2005 on WHM'S visa,
Changed to Student Visa in July 2006, Granted PSW Visa in Oct 2008,
Applied Teir 1 (Self Employed + Job salary) Refused in April 2010 (Agents Mistake), Applied again Granted July 2010.
Teir 1 Extension Applied June 2012 (Self Employed + Salary)... Refused again Agents mistake, Appealed in tribunal.. Visa Granted July 2013.

Booked ILR appointment on long residence basis in Sheffied PEO at 11:00, 16th Oct.
Arrived at the PEO at 10:15, after a Airport style security check up, told to go to a counter to Register.
On the Counter Submitted all my Documents
1)Fee confirmation letter 2)Filled Application Form 3) Ielts (B1) 4) LITUK 5)Passport size Photos (2)
and Photo Copies of Passport(all arrival and departure stamp), Ielts & LITUK.

They gave me a token Number and was told to wait for biometric,
called for biometrics at 11:00, after biometrics was told that it will take an hour for a decision.
If you are leaving the centre please inform the reception.
at 11:35 the Receptionist called my token number and told that i have been granted ILR.....
Total time spent in PEO..One hour 20 mins... :D

I want to thank all the Moderators and senior members for their great help,
by reading different cases on this forum i gained knowleged and confidience.
Hope all of you who have been here for such a long time struggling in a foreign land get your ILR.
Congratulations:) Very nice to know.i am planning to go in first week of January for the same day service.my time line is student2.5+psw2+tier1 general2+EEA.please advise me two things,I switched from tier1General to EEA family member because I wasn't meeting the targets, the time spent under tier1 without meeting the targets is lawful or not?are there any tax issues on self employment?i will appreciate your reply
Hi Sami007, My total earning for year 2013-14 was 13,000/- way below earning target, I think the main thing is you should not have any breaks in your residence, Employed paid your taxes & NI even if your earning is less than the target.
Thanks very much brov, that was my only worry.one of my friends submitted to UKBA 15,000 self employment which he didn't pay the tax in the tax return later on.his employment tax was ok though.did he need to revise his tax return of that year and pay the tax on 15k and then go for ILR ?

Hi everyone, just wanted to update the Google doc, but for some reason it won't let me edit anything. I'm very happy to say that I received my approval and documents via Royal Mail (signed for) yesterday, with a letter dated 13 October 2015 - so less than 2 months from when I submitted the application! :) I missed DX delivery of my BRP card the day before, so it'll have to be re-delivered this coming week.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for their support and advice, and best of luck to everyone still waiting!

No I don't have any appeal or Gap. Yes my current visa in tier 1 General. My both extension was via salary not self employed. On that day when they gave me the letter, I asked why they couldn't make the decision today, she only said they were doubt my continuous residency and they need to check with other department-that's all. She didn't mention anything about tax or neither she asked for any letter. But it's been two months now. Just wondering why they are taking so long??? Is there anyone in this group same issue like me???

You got no appeal or 3C&D in your time line.the only thing could be the targets during tier1.any declared self employment to UKBA on which you didn't pay tax after getting the visa?if you paid all your taxes and met the targets,I don't see any point to be worried of.

No, not back to square one exactly. My application is "invalid" but not yet "rejected".

If I resend them the payment page in time, and my payment is accepted, then my application becomes valid again. They still have all my paperwork and stuff. I should not have to do a complete re-application.

But this took 2 months to deal with. There is the obvious question of whether my whole application process will be delayed by that amount of time.

A small advisory:

If you are applying by post and paying with a Delta or Maestro card, PLEASE remember to circle the amount to pay on question A16. I missed this, and it seems a bit ridiculous, because I had already checked the amount (£1500) above in question A1, and there is only one option for you to circle (£1500-standard) in question A16. But nevertheless, you still have to circle that figure!

I didn't.

I noticed that they hadn't taken money from my account. Now, almost two months after my application, they sent me a letter advising me of the problem. My application as it stands is "invalid", and they sent a copy of that page to resubmit. I have 10 days to do it, or my application will be rejected.

I'm happy to say that at least the UKBA is giving me a second chance here.

I guess a broader piece of advice would be to review your application *slowly and carefully* before you send it (I reviewed it carefully, but not slowly). Better still, have someone else review it for you, too. Just to catch stuff like this.

I can see from this post that I'm not the first person to miss this.

I just want to help anyone I can to avoid to this unnecessary added stress in what is already a stressful process.

Good luck everyone!

Hi All,

I am about to apply for my Indefinite to Leave to Remain on the basis of Long Residence in the UK. I came to the UK End of December 2005. I am hoping to apply using the premium services via a PEO by the second week of December. Can this be done as theoretically speaking I have not completed residing for 10 years in the UK?

I have two reasons why I wanted to apply my ILR prior to completing 10 years:
Reason 1: My wife’s Tier 2 (Dependant) visa is about to expire on 05th January 2016. If I was to have my ILR well in time, I am in two minds whether to apply for a Tier 2 PBS dependant of FLR(M) as she has completed 2 years in residing in the UK. What would you be able to suggest best to do in these circumstances?

Reason 2: My son who was born in the UK last year (2014) - I am hoping to apply for his citizenship (Using MN1 form – please let me know if this is the correct procedure?) in the UK after I receive my ILR and thereafter apply for his British passport directly afterwards.

I know for a fact that with my ILR (10 year) application, I cannot include dependants, but briefly looking at the forms with regards to my wife’s case there is an option to include a dependant. Is it mandatory to include my son as a dependant? I would be very grateful if you would be able to guide me in the correct way.
