Yes I think this is new to HO.They are now sending ack letter by email to applicants. Suppose they are sending biometric letter by email as well that would make the application process more easier and quicker for everyone + it will save them the hassle and money on postage too. To me I think HO should be sending ack and biometric letters by emails.
Hey spatacus
I wish they could do this and make a hell lot easier process but lets see when they do this.
I did noticed that your and mine application had been posted on same day with exactly same response. Good luck may be in four months time we both will get back same time.. yaaay
Btw is your case straight forward or any complications>>?????
Thanks Faddy

Well , the information you have shared with us according to it you will be absolutely fine as you submitted your invalid application back with in the 28 days of the given time then it should be fine .....and don't worry they will treat yur 2008 according to those rules and in both rules before or after april 2012 you have submitted the fresh application with in the 28 days of the invalid notice ...so don't be confused ...shahfurqan wrote:Shahkakaram wrote:hello shahakram thank you very much for your reply, shahfurqan wrote:urgent attention required please,
i have got a bit confused that you said if it was returned as invalid before april 2012 so they will disregard 8 to 10 days but if it was returned as invalid after april 2012 then they will also disregard.i do not have the letter as my application was returned invalid in october 2008.i met a solicitor and he did not mention something like this as to me it make sense that if the applications are made before the april 2012 they should be treated according to that law and if application are made after april 2012 does not matter whenever the application was returned as invalid,it should be treated according to new laws.this is what as per my understanding the long residence paragraph 276(a)(B) says if i am not mistaken. It will not be appropriate for the home office if they have laid down a new law for treating applications and when they receive an application, they will start looking the date of invalidity so they could treat the application as per the previous abandon law.pls correct me if am wrong cuz i got confused once again.thanks
hello shahakram thank you very much for your reply, shahfurqan wrote:Shahkakaram wrote:shahfurqan wrote:urgent attention required please,
while applying for long residence ilr do we need to Tick the box which says"have you ever overstayed beyond your leave to remain expiry" if we have overstayed less than 28 days just because of invalid application which was resubmitted within 8 to 10 days.
thanks
Hello Shahfurqan ,
Logically you have to say YESbut Technically it should be treated DISREGARDED
![]()
Here you have to check the when your application was returned you as INVALID if it is before 9th April 2012 Then these 8 to 10 days are disregarded and if its after 9th April 2012 still it should be disregardedyou have to says YES and explain the reason with the time lines if you remember the times ...
And let suppose if you say NO to that question , it should not be bothered by the case worker because you know according to rules it should be disregarded and also make sure what actually the " invalid letter " saying you about the re applying of the fresh application .... Depends from case to case ....
Very Good Question really helpful for all the members of this forum and if any member disagree with my opinion kindly correct me here ..![]()
best of luck with your app

Did you read the post. Who said that EU applicant enrol biometrics. They are exempt from biometrics/life in uk/English language. I told you the pattern as how they process applications in liverpool and still saying that you all folks don't think that there is sequence that they follow. No, it depends on case and caseworker. I only suggest you that if by the end of 4th week then can call them.fielddrive wrote:couldn't agree more...!Universal soldier wrote:fielddrive wrote:its been a month now.. no email ... no biometrics so far
hello fieldrive,
Normally biometrics reach in one month, check shahjee timeline too. I think if at the end of 4th week you not get then call them. Many members when not received or lost then they called them and request them biometrics. I do not believe that they follow any sequence for processing the applications as inside the same building at Liverpool they process EU route applications and many EU route applicants who submitted late get their applications approved before those ones who applied earlier even with same documents. It totally depends on individual case but largely on individual caseworker.
by the way EU route folks dont have to submit biometrics.. ?

Welcome to the forum ,
As you said you applied on 1st june 2014 but 1st june 2014 was sunday ...is there any post offices open on sunday as well .....? Any way best of luck with the application ...
Yes Shahkakaram quite a few post offices in London are open till late now as well as on Sunday. But Sunday items are guaranteed only for Tuesday delivery in most branches.
By the way, I don't want to jinx it but looking at the approvals this week, you're probably very close to getting your docs back. Have you been checking your return ref on royal mail website?
