Here is my situation:

Eligibility: Form UKM (Citizenship through heritage; Mother is UK citizen)
Method of application: Reading NCS
Date of Application: 8/10/13
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 18/10/13 -- This was via e-mail. Looks like most get their via post, but I live in Germany.
Date of debit: 17/10/13
Date of receipt of approval: Waiting
Date of ceremony: TBD

I have seen almost no Form UKM's on this board, so have no idea if it will take longer than necessary. It's a very simple application, so shouldn't take long, but we'll see.......

Today will remain as one of the most happy days in my life, getting home from work, i found the mighty brown envelope.Was probably delivered sometime today.With shaking hands, i open it up and read the big title on it: CITIZENSHIP INVITATION APPLICATION FOR BRITISH CITIZENSHIP BY...followed by my name and details. The long,long wait has come to an end, all the fears and checking the post daily has finished now. A few more minor steps to get the passport, but should be a walk in the park compared to what i've been through till now...and to think that in exactly 8 days would have been 3 months that my application was sent, my hope was indeed low. But, as they say "good things come to those who wait".Indeed my wait was well worth it!And to all the rest of us that are here on this forum, waiting or not for that good news, i say this: don't loose your hope, you will get what you want in the end, sooner or maybe a bit later for some, BUT IT WILL COME FOR ALL OF US! Good luck everyone, a big thank you for being a real support to me and others on those long and lonely days of waiting.Hope to hear soon that all of us got their approvals!

First of all I want to thank the Lord for making this dream true! This means a lot to my wife who always needed a visa to go anywhere but no more visas, long queues anymore!
I also want to say a big thank you to all the members on this forum for their contributions specially to the gurus Amber and Jambo.
As my wife's case was a bit difficult and we did not know which way to go, Jambo gave us all the advice we needed, which we followed to the letter and voila! both applications successful.

i just applied for mine on the 8th of jan 2014 but i dont understand why you put £874? I put my fee as £954 because its including the ceremony which is £80quid that they will refund you if your application is unsuccessful. should i have just put 874?? i am sooo confused now

Mohammad thanks for your message.

By the way, my wife now wants to call the council to book her ceremony as I know for a fact that she does not need to wait for the ceremony invitation letter but how about our 5 year old child?
The HO letter states "Your children 's applications have also been successful. They are not required to make an oath and pledge but will be invited to attend the ceremony and be presented with their certificates"
so will the HO post her Registration Certificate? or will our child be given that on the ceremony day? also does my wife need to book our child's ceremony too? We are a bit confused so please can you gurus help us? Thanks.

It is £874 and that amount includes the ceremony fees also. Hopefully the HO will refund you the rest of the money that you overpaid.

At last got my approval letter today. I'm so happy and best of luck for everyone else. This board has been the helpline in our immigration journey which as come to an end. I'm very thankful to each and everyone on this board. Just a little hurdle ceremony and passport application left, compared to what we have gone through it is just nothing.

I was checking royal mail tracking no a few times a day, yesterday got tired of it and today at 9 am there was a delivery. I opened the parcel and I have a British citizenship.
