@sililiza69 - Haha! Yes, my impatience is contageous! It is very hard to be patient after the first month has ticked by... who knows what today or even tomorrow might hold!

@dantata - Congrats! Your dates are the same as mine (and sikiliza69 and a couple others) so let's hope we will get our approvals soon too!

Hello friends, just got the approval letters for my wife and daughter in two separate envelopes but not my approval letter. The envelope in which my wife's approval letter came also has a "page 2 of 2" which presumably is second page of my approval letter. My question is can I call the council and explain or should I call HO? Thanks

What to do

Post by lam85 » Tue Sep 24, 2013 11:31 pm

I see there are people getting their letters that applied after me... Do you think I should call or email ukba as I have yet to see any updates there are about 4-5 people who applied after me who already received their letters :( I'm getting so anxious and frustrated .... Also since I'm from a low risk country I can't think what may be holding mine up... Does anyone have contact details for ukba ? Does any one know why ukba seems to have slowed down these last two weeks ?! I am entering my 7th week of waiting ... Grrrrr :(

Emailing the team @ ukbanationalityenquiries@ukba.gsi.gov.uk
Add your application reference and explain precisely that you made a joint application and the page 2 of approval letter was missing from the envelope received.

or just call your council and find if certs have arrrived their end.

Please keep the forum posted.

Just called the council and they say "Please wait as you would get a ceremony date and letter from the council once we (council) hear from the HO. Once you receive that, you dont need your approval letter".

So I guess i should wait for a few days. Its a bittersweet feeling but have no other option but to wait!

Thanks

Emrah - at least that sounds good news buddy!! Although I can see how annoying it must be to wait for the letter. Which email address did you use? (we applied at the same time so I am wanting to contact them to see if mine has been decided by now too - I have a feeling in my bones that they have made a decision, let's hope I am right!).

Congrats to all who have recently received approvals!!

Emrah - thanks buddy, I think I will try email them too to see if any decision has been made on mine. I do have a feeling they have made a decision...!

By the way, I think you could try calling the Council to see if they have your certificate. From what I have read, it seems sometimes they allow people to book their ceremony as long as they have the certificate from the HO (although some councils make people wait for an invite either from the council or the HO first). I think there is no harm in calling the council to see what they say. Good luck! Let us know what happens!

Emrah - if you used the NCS team then I think ask to speak to them. I think they'll be able to either answer your question or direct you to who in the Council can help answer your questions. (That's my opinion anyway).
