Finally, I received my approval letter today exactly after 6 months.

It may be relevant to note that I called HO yesterday to inquire about my application and I was informed that they have a backlog of applications, which is leading to delays (over the six months processing time) and I should call them again if I do not hear anything by end of the month. Then I called my MP office to chase them and HO confirmed to them that I will be receiving decision letter and invitation for the ceremony shortly, which gave me a bit of relief.

April applicants don't lose hope! I hope you get approval letters soon.

good luck to you all... I did send an email to Home office asking for an update from my work email, I got the approval after 1 week after sending this email, it could be co-incident. But i didn't get any reply from them.

Congratulations. I also applied on 24th April. Still waiting. Although got my biometrics done on 2nd June. dnt know whats happening.

Hi guys just a quick question .. i received my approval letter saying i need to call council and book for the ceremony and on the same day i also received a letter from council saying that my ceremony is booked on ----. my question is do i still need to contact council for booking or not?

Just 16 more days and it will be 6 months exactly for my application.

I ended up contacting my local MP and a letter has been sent to ukba to check the progress on my application, lets see how long they will take to reply my MP.

Iwill suggest everyone who has been waiting from more than 5 months to contact their local MPs and raise thia issue.

I havnt sent any email to ukba as i am sure it will be a waste of time and also they do not provide you any update or info via email.

Thank you for your email. I have spoken to the Home Office and I am told that your application is under active consideration. I am told that you made the application on 14 April 2015 and so the six months wouldn’t be until 14 October 2015. Additionally, naturalisation applications are taking longer than normal at the moment due to the increased checks that are having to be made due to the increased security situation.

Further update from my MP’s office:

“I have just spoken to the Home Office in depth. We think you were given wrong information – the service standard is still 95% to be dealt with in 6 months. Your case was last worked on 13 October though extra checks are now required outside the Home Office and this means it is part of the 5% that is not met within 6 months.”

I have heard nothing. I called the home office today. They said I should get a letter in the next couple of weeks. Explaining the delay, or that I get an approval letter.

I have been a silence reader on this forum for years, Thought I had share my experience too.
I have applied for naturalization and timeline as follows

Nationality: Pakistan
Route: Tier 1 General
5 years + 1 year ILR ( life in UK, previous Ielts test)
Date of application for Naturalization : 20/04/ 2015 Through NCS Wolverhampton
Acknowledgement: May,2015
Bio-Metrics: June,2015
Approval: Still waiting
Ceremony: Waiting

I have noticed there are few applicants like me waiting and frustrated. I am unable to determine how do HO prioritize their workload. as there is no sequence of working on files. A friend of mine applied in July and has received her approval while we ( April Applicants ) are waiting

April timeline is moving, however not quick enough.

HO does not care about immigrants other than robbing the money of us in terms of taxes, application fees. We are told to jump in River and wait for the rescue team. Its pathetic and absolutely unacceptable. Depression, pain and stress is what we all suffer.

Anyway guys, lets hope to see approvals in next few days.

Do you people think, we should be raising this issue with our local MP's, sign an E-Petition or something that media gets our attention along with HO so they can change their painful process? provide regular updates to applicants or something?

There are thousands of us going through this process, paying s*** loads and still getting slagged as immigrants/benefits. Most English ppl don't even know what we go through and fees we had to pay.

Contacted my MP last wk 9/10/15 and he said he would get back to me as soon as Home Office got back to him, to date I have not heard back. Contacted Home Office today on 03001232253 and got the same lame response "we will write to you in a couple of weeks". A couple of weeks could be anything from weeks to months I told the lady and like a parrot she continued to tell me "a couple of weeks". I also emailed Home Office this morning: nationalityenquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, no response as yet.

Hi All - every day I wait for the post, and every day ends in disappointment! I must have one of the most straight-forward applications in history, and yet I'm still waiting Application made on 28/04, it took them 1 month to deduct the fees, and now we're coming up to 6 months and still no brown envelope. HI Guys

Just called Home office and they gave me standard reply that your application if over due by 6 months , you will get a letter in the post telling you why the delay and status.

I knew this guy is giving me standard reply and asking him again and again wont change it as he was very clear on it .. i offered him that i can give him my reference number as i have urgent travel needs, he was still stand on the standard answer ...

After putting down the phone with him in frustration, i got a message from my wife to call her as i am in office ... She gave me the good news .. along waited brown envelops arrived today in the post with APPROVAL

wow .. today its the mark of 6th month ...
My Application reached home office on 16th April
Approval received on 16 OCT ...

Letter Dated 12th Oct ...

My Approval letter is dated 10th Oct and i got it today, you can calculate roughly when to get it , based on your approval on 14th ..
