helloimran wrote:Hi joh118,
Congrats... to you for your ILR!
My situation is following,
Application posted on 15/02/11 SET(0) under 10 years rule, with wife and daughter FLR(M).
Acknowledge letter received, dated 16/02/11.
Fees deducted £900 and £650 on 17/02/11.
Biometric letter recevied, dated 17/02/11 for wife and daughter.
Is it positive sign that HO called my dependants for biometrics so quickly?
Have they started working on my own ILR applications?
Any ideas?
Thanks.
Greenie wrote:no. It just means you used the right form, provided acceptable photos, signed the form, paid the fee, and completed the mandatory sections.
It means nothing in terms of the merits of your application.
6 Weeks! Congrats! Enjoy it!Jay4you wrote:Hey everyone,
Wants to share the good news that I received my ILR yesterday.
My timeline:
Application posted: 5th January 2011
Akn Letter: 7th January 2011
Granted: 20 February 2011 (Liverpool)
My case was straight forward (no gaps) except that my initial passport was lost by Royal Mile while applying for USA tourist visa by post in 2002. I did not registered a police report that time but thankfully I had photocopies of lost passport which I manage to get attested from my consulate & sent them with my application with a cover letter explaining the situation.
I really appreciate your guys help & support throughout the application process. Keep up the good work & do not hesitate to ask if you guys have any questions....

Then no need for a sollicitor....just make sure all documents are there and in order with a cover letter to make the review process easier for them..abdu wrote:Hello

I had similar scenario with one of my visa. I applied for visa through post 10 days before my previous visa was running out. I was granted the visa but it was stamped 21 days after my initial visa run out. I was advised in this forum to apply for SAR but like you I did not had enough time so I just sent my application. I now have my ILR so maybe they don't recognise that as a gap.abdu wrote:
Thanks Joh118.
Its a bit late for me to Order SAR since haven't got enough time left to apply ILR . Still it could help just in case if anything goes wrong.
I am having bit of confusion in regards to gaps. I had always applied for visa renewals before the previous leave to remain ran out. Since most of the applications were made Via post, the gaps were just because of those reasons and I have 2 gaps worth 21 days and 23 days respectively. I cannot prove whether the application was made via post because I never kept acknowledgement letters.
What impact this could have on my case?
Any thoughts or suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Thanks

Maybe you can point this out in you covering letter & mention that you have applied to update your visa before it have run out.
