Thank you for replying. UKBA actually send 2 different letter 1 is a decision letter and other one is invitation letter. Apparently sometime people dont get the decision letter and straight away get ainvitation letter.

I have got the decision letter and its asking me to wait for invitation letter. I was just trying to figure out what pattern they are following these days?

Another thing which I have noticed in most cases(I can be wrong though) that when people gey their letter after some days (like you had after 10 days) they get straight away invitation letter but in my case decision was made on 4th august and I got that decision letter on 7th august.

I guess I have to wait now because cant book my ceremony without invitation letter.

Thanks

From what I've read all here, it seems the process from application to receiving approval normally take between 4-6 weeks, which seems not bad. My other observation is that money are not debited with the same speed as it is for other application category. Wishing everyne waiting for response all the best (including myself).

Hello Everyone...I had applied for HSMP last year taking help from this website and successfully got it. This time i have compeleted 5 years in this country and am elligible for ILR now. I would request for some help please.
These are the details: I have lived in the country since 14th Aug 2004 and entered on a WP. I got HSMP Oct 2008 for 3 years. And now i have completed 5 years - 4 years in WP + 1 year in HSMP.
I am appearing for Life in UK test coming Monday and hoefully i will clear the exam. Could someone please let me know the documents i need to send for ILR and would you suggest personal appointment OR by post as menthod of applying for ILR? Thanks for your help in advance.

indianuk, This thread is for naturalisation timelines only. You will get a better response by starting a new thread. All the best for your ILR.

Hi rkudum. My assumption is that they would contact your referees if the need arises by email, telephone or in writing as those are the details requested on the form.

However you might want to note that in Chapter 6 (6.3.6.1) of the case working instructions available on the Border Agency website it says the following and I quote

"All applicants, except those seeking to renounce British nationality, are asked to provide two referees so that we can be satisfied about a person’s identity. We would not routinely contact referees, but may do so on the authority of a senior caseworker if this could resolve any concerns about the application. "

Hi,

Yes, quite lucky I would say. I was only calling them to inform about my change of address from the next month and they advised me that a decision on your application has just me made yesterday :-)

The NCS was based in Hamilton, Scotland.

Very professional and friendly. They pointed out an important point that I should have been in the UK exactly 5 years before making the application.

I was out of the UK on the 7th July 2004 which is why my application was not sent through on the same day. Instead they kept my application in the NCS and sent it on the 14th July 2009.

Congrats on your approval. What is date on your approval letter ? Can you please also tell us whether it is a single or family application ?

I guess it would be really useful to add this info (family/Single) to future upates . Looks like some single applcations are approved within 3 weeks and typically it takes 5 to 6 weeks for family applications.
