A big mistake on my part but nice of them to let me continue with my application. They included a fast track return envelope to send application back and avoid waiting. Hope it goes through now.

I would advise against laminating legal documents like your naturalisation certificate, any residence document issued on an ISD e.t.c. This will surely invalidate them.

Congratulations on your successful application!

Laminated document

Post by raheelmulla » Fri May 03, 2013 2:40 pm

I would agree with plum70. But if you had done mistake by laminating marriage certificate and LIUK then u don't have to worry as they will except the laminating document.

We applied for BC a month ago & approval reached yesterday. We applied via NCS & they accepted all laminated docs (Marrage, Birth etc) & took copies. UKBA advise not to laminate originals but I don't think it's a very restricted rule if you already have docs laminated like Birth, Marrage certificates.

Kasturi 75 which country are you from? Do they not allow dual nationality? It seems you are sad for giving up your citizenship for BC. In my own case, dual nationality is allowed.

Yes. You still have to wait because when home office send invitation letter to you same time then forward citizen certificate to your nearest local authority. After you receive invitation letter you can book private cermony. If you try to call now and book private ceremony the local authority will not have your citizenship certificate.

Did you check ur letter. Because the letter which i got from ukba state that you application for naturalisation citizen is successful and we will send you invitation letter shortly if you dont get invitation within 2 week you can contact on email address which was provide by them on the letter.. And it clearly state that this is not invitation letter so dont worry you will receive letter within 10 days.

If your letter say that call ur local authority to book appointment for citizen cermony then you can book now. Otherwise wait for the letter.

Thanks.
