Really annoying when see anything disorder.
All approvals from Tier 1,2 and Spouse. What the hell they are doing with 10 years basis applicant ?????

My wife received her letter confirming her application has been successful. In this, it states that as she has applied in her married name, her certificate of naturalisation has been issued in her married name, however as her passport is in her maiden name, she must have this updated to reflect her married name before she can apply for a British passport.

Is this standard procedure, or should she be able to apply for a British passport by providing her ILR card and marriage certificate as the basis of her name change?

I'd appreciate some advice on this, as this has taken us by surprise today.

This is a standard procedure and is mandatory before you apply for British Passport. Passport office would refuse your application if you apply without getting the name changed that is why they have notified you in advance to meet the requirement. GOOD LUCK

Received the acknowledgement letter.
I expected to receive the Biometrics letter too with the acknowledgement letter. But I didn't.

I suppose the acknowledgement and biometrics requests are handled by 2 separate teams.
I anticipate I'll receive it in the coming days.

I expected my biometrics letter to come with the acknowledgement letter, too, as it has happened to some people, but it came three days after. Hold tight, it's coming

Receive my approval yesterday in the post (dated 06th Oct 2015).

It seems the HO has absolutely no proper system in place to deal with applications according to the date they were submitted. I applied on the 8th of July and still waiting. I can see some people from June and even April are still waiting!! but there some applications from mid/end of July have already received their approval (congratulations to them).

It seems that the HO has skipped first and second week of July applicants and gone to approving end of July and August applications!!
