10 years long residence applications

Hello friends,
Just a quick overview of my situation.
Applied for ILR (10 yrs route) at Sheffield premium service two weeks ago. A letter was handed over to me stating that the application is valid but further checks will be carried out to get a decision & retrieve my passport from another department.
I had already applied for Tier 1 Extension about 8 months ago and the decision on that application was still pending at the time of application for ILR.
A week ago, they withdrew my Tier 1 Extension application, refunded my IHS surcharges, and sent me all the related documents with a letter stating that hence I apllied for ILR, this T1 application is no more valid & that they have forwarded my passport to the ILR department.
Just wanted to know how long it will take to get a decision & that will there be any checks related to my T1 application?

Hi they have done the same thing to me yesterday and they clearly said that we do check with hmrc,plus we will collect your passport and other document from other coleage departments.
My timeline is: tier1 General

Put me on waiting don't know how long it will gona take

Its been a long wait for me brother. I have been waiting for T1 Enterpreneur extension for the last 8/9 months and now when I went to vary my application to ILR, they put me on hold once again. I'm into the 4th week even on this one. Exhausted really.

Applied for ILR premium service (Croydon) and successfully granted

- Appointment Time: 10am
- Reached at 9:30am
- Security checks, application submission and Biometrics submitted by: 10am
- Left HO: 1pm

Documents Submitted for ILR (10 Years Route)
1. Payment checklist
2. Application form
3. All Passports + BRP Card
4. 2 Photos
5. UK Degree (for English)
6. Life in the UK
7. 2 x Photo copies

During application, they called me and requested, If I can provide bank statement or payslips as I am currently on Tier 2 visa. I collected a print out of bank statement from my nearest branch and submitted to case worker. After submission, case worker called within 5 minutes and confirmed my ILR.

Hi All

Applied for the wife's ILR visa on Long residence second week of september. Biometric done on last week of september. Still haven't gone anything back. I am aware that it is still within 6 months but was wondering if anybody else has heard anything who applied around the same time.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I am currently waiting appeal to be listed on refusal of 10 years long residence application. I got refusal in May 2016. It is 8 months since then , not heard yet.

Does any one know waiting times of appeals in UK.

I sent request to immigration tribunal via local MP , stating medical urgency of parents who need me in Pakistan. I sent pictures , X-rays and medical reports of my father.
Today i received letter from Immigration tribunal caseworker who replied that my appeal cannot be expedited.

Reason of refusal was error in self assessment income.

Assuming you have only applied this month, suggest be patient and wait. It can take a few weeks to get biometric letter.

I arrived here on 10 March 2007 and I will apply to my my indefinite leave next week. My application will be with in with in 28 days of period qualified period so,


Q1) on the application form, question E13 asks, "How long have you lived in UK?", should I answer 9 years 11 month or 10 years 00 months? I am confused as I am applying within 28 day of qualifying period of 10 years.

Q2) question D3 askes "reason for short absence" , shall I just write reasons such as holiday, family visit, business trip etc. visa extension, is those good enough or ok reasons?

No, it is the date you ENTERED the UK that is the start of the qualifying period. Long residence doesn't permit a split of absences like the PBS routes do. Any single absence of 180 days or more is a break in your continuity of residence.

You need to write down the exact duration from the time you've lived in the country. Obviously since you're applying 28 days prior to completing your 10 years whcih is permissible, it will not be an issue but to be on the safer side you can write down this in the additional information on the form

Hey All ,

i went for my 10 years Long Residence premium service and they retained my profile by saying that your application is Valid but we need more assistance. I specifically ask the case worker about exact reason and she said we need your old passports which are already holding by Home office in my last application of Tier 1 Entrepreneur and it was refused but i went for appeal.


Anyone knows how long they normally take to respond in that kind of case ?
Do you think my application has been approved but just becz of missing passports they hold it ??
I never been out of UK more then 80 days in my 10 years history

Hi all,

I have submitted my SET LR application on 16/06/2016. and recieved a letter about complex issue on 24/11/2016. on 04/01/2017, i approached MP to intervene in the matter then on 02/02/2017 my application was approved. my last visa status was Tier 1 (G).

yes i had send tax amendment for 2010-11 but it is not updated yet. but for year 2013-14 was no amendments at all. thanx
