Appointment was at 8:20 AM reached 8:22 (traffic) All the staff was really helpful. They mentioned to me that nothing to worry I am not late. Bit delayed in initial registration as I requested to cancel the booking for my UK born child. but after that everything was very straight forward. Biometric was done at around 9:20 AM. Received a call at 10 AM from Case worker why I am not applying for other kid, explained to him that he is UK Born and I am planning to directly register for MN1. Received approval at around 10:25 AM. (Amazing experience even without agent)

j) Photocopies of all the above docs. The photocopies were arranged in the same order as the originals.

6. Absences more than 180 days in any of the qualifying years- NO. I had a total of 166 days absence in the 2 year qualifying period. I showed evidences to prove the absence. I was very tensed since I was just below the border line. Therefore, I made sure that rest of my application and docs (including cohab. docs) were as complete as it could be.

7. Any Additional Comments- I labelled different doc categories using different colored sticky notes so that it projected out and was eye catching. The same color codes were followed for the photocopies as well. When I was called later to reveal the outcome of the application, the case worker told that the way I organized the docs was excellent and that it was very easy for them. So I think its worth to spent some extra time to make the application looks prettier and this way you can go home faster as well.

Absences letter for the last 5 years, even though my total absences were only 60 days. This is a mandatory requirement as per the form but actually if absence is less than 180 days in a given year then i dont think they really care about this. To be on the safe side get the letter, in case you dont have one then explain your situation in your cover letter.

Electric+water bills + bank statements+hmrc correspondences. I compiled a list of massive documents for this part of the form however case worker only saw bank statements ( for joint account + 1 individual for my wife)

GUYS- LIVERPOOL PEO STAFF MEMBERS ARE REALLY VERY GOOD. SUCH A RELAXED ATMOSPHERE , I WAS BIT STRESSED BUT AS SOON AS I WENT IN I WAS BACK TO MY COMFORT ZONE. ALTHOUGH I DROVE FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 HOURS BUT ITS WORTH A DRIVE CONSIDERING THE EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BE GETTING IN THIS PEO. I WILL SIMPLY GIVE 10 OUT OF 10 TO THIS ONE.

Hi,

Kindly help. Will appreciate a quick advise.
I am on tier 1 (general) and applying for my ILR this 6th oct along with 1 dependent (wife)
I am been advised that the i selected a wrong category from the online appointment portal.
I am not sure if this is the case as i am getting mixed opinions and worried since i only have 5 days left for my appointment.
To cut the whole story short: under the Set (O) appointment i had selected ‘other main applicant’ instead of ‘Tier 1’. The total fees that i paid for me and dependent is £2984.00.
Please advise if its still ok for me to walk in for the appointment or do i have to cancel and rebook the appointment again in the correct category i.e. ‘tier 1’.

Hi... I have been reading a lot of posts and am new to these boards. I hope to get some peace of mind a little if possible. I have an Ancestry Visa and applying for ILR in PEO in DEC and need some clarification on absences. I have had 150 days out of the UK in 5 years and all of these were for personal sightseeing trips and one back to Australia to see family. The longest absence was the one to Australia for 50 days. Do you think an itemised list with days absent and reason given and a passport given to verify this is all that I should need to satisfy them. I haven't kept travel documents. Some trips were taken using annual leave from employment and others were in between teaching contracts worked. Any advice gratefully received.

My only suggestion is to get the UKNARIC certificate - it costs £50-80 per person, but worth it. Also, expired IELTS is valid.

Appointment process/experience

12:30 - A fairly simple and straightforward process I'd say tbh. I went in at 12:30 for my appointment booked for 13:00. Went through security check and was told to go to counter 1 (reception).

12:50 - Got there and was given a token/ticket number, and the staff member / receptionist took all the documents + the form for my application. ( I thought this bit is different at some PSCs after reading on this forum)

13:10 - called in for biometrics and submitted the biometrics in about 5 mins and signed the declaration.

14:00 - same staff member / receptionist called for my ticket number and handed over the approval letter with my original documents. I did ask her at this point if it was normally done by the CASE WORKER, but she said when the case is straight forward and everything has been completed, they do it like this.

Additional Comments:

I kept it simple and had the above list of documents submitted with the application. Advised the receptionist that I do have some additional docs if in case are needed by the CW. She didn't ask for the photo copies but I did and handed these over, otherwise these we're going to be a waste for me anyways.

Had the form separately and the supporting documents organised in a categorical way with sticky coloured labels explaining what's in the bunch which are paper clipped together. So it was all organised from my side of things, don't know if the case worker found it any useful or not LOL

I'm now waiting for the BRP to arrive in 7-10 working days and then need to go through the formality of registering my UK BORN (1 yr old) child to prove the fact that he is a UK born LOL I thought the birth cert. Did that job lol Anyways a process is a process and one has to follow.

I think this is as much I can share really as don't think there is anything else. But feel free to ask any questions and I'll see if I'm able to answer

Now, with regards to your and your son's situation, I'd advise you the same as codecruiser has; that is to get your UK born son to register as British once you have got your ILR. This is done using the MN1 form. One doesn't have to co this for a UK born child if the parent is settled before the birth of the child. But because you will be getting your settlement/ILR after your son is born, you have to do this in order to get him a British passport.

Decision is yours really, if you plan to eventually get settled here and wish to have citizenship here, then go with the above explained option and don't apply for your son's ILR and save money on that front.

In case you don't want to be here in UK for that long and you don't want to loose indian citizenship and get citizenship in this country, then you may want to get him the ILR with you and you all keep your indian passports and citizenship.

My appointment was at 11am today. We got there at 10:30. The staff at Solihull PEO were so lovely! my visa was approved by 2:30pm. The process was so simple and easy. It is definitely worth the £400 extra. I don't think i would have managed the stress of another postal application!
