I just got two bedroom flat on rent 1.5 week ago, I have not got any utility bill so far. May I apply for the settlement visa for my wife and daughter. Or it not recommended from you guys under your experience/knowledge?
if NO, then then when I should apply?

I think this question will help others as well. Who are planing to get the accommodation for settlement visa application.

You don't need to submit utility bills. Apply when you have all your documents in order.

Yes. If you've registered for Council tax you can also include this statement.

I got a problem. The flat I got recently is on 6 months contract. I spoke with letting agency, they said, initially we do 6 months. The next contract we can do for 1 year. I don't know what to ask or what to do now.
Possible? May I use this contract? It is finishing in end of May2016.

Your 6 months tenancy will be fine, it is not a problem.

You are creating a problem where none exists. The tenancy agreement is fine.

What I should do with the Previous passport of my wife? Do I have to send that passport along with the application to Sheffield? If Yes, then is it legal to ask my wife to post me her passport? I think it is not legal to post the passport to somewhere.

Question 2) Is it necessary to send the original passport of sponsor, along the application to Sheffield or I can send only the photocopy of my passport including visa status (actually I'm traveling next month to home country)? if the photocopy is fine, then do I have to send the notarized photocopy or the simple photocopy is fine?

I can answer Question 2. Any official documents (including your passport) which aren't being submitted as originals, should be legally certified.

I got some situation. I'm getting late to apply for the settlement visa for my wife and daughter, for some reason. By the time when I will apply, my tenancy agreement will be expire after three months. Could somebody tell me that where is it mention that tenancy agreement should have 6 to 5 months to expire. Because the guide below shows....

Accommodation (renting)
• If the sponsor rents a flat or house, the Shorthold Tenancy Agreement should be provided. If the applicant is not a signatory to the tenancy agreement, then an additional statement from the landlord (or estate agent) should be provided that attests to his agreement that the premises will be occupied by an additional person. If an existing tenancy agreement is to be used, it should have at least six months before expiry. If the tenancy agreement does not have at least six months before expiry, then an additional statement from the landlord showing intent to renew at the same terms should be provided.

does anybody know that what ref is behind of this guide? Or we just do believe what this guide says without any reference ? about the issue of 6 months with tenancy agreement . If there is no any ref then how this guide can give some sort of time period?
